glad you got it working.it's a great system for the budget gamer/dvd enthusiast.
It's all fixed now. Took another hour to get everything set up, but it's working like a dream now. There was a switch on the back of the DVD player that wasn't right and now it is! Awesome, awesome system now. Also have my PS2 and Cube connected (had to turn surround on in options and then I had the reciever on Stero instead of Pro Logic II). I think I still have to set the speakers up to tune them a bit more, but it's all good now. I've wanted a set up like this for years. So sweet. Technology Ownz.
Now I just got the digital audio to work from the DVD player. WOW.
I agree, when I finally got a digital reciever I said the same thingOriginally posted by Rumpy

I ordered an Onkyo set recently for what seems to be a great price but I'm having second thoughts. Mainly because I won't be using them for a while (I don't know where I'll be) and I might be able to afford better (or just order something online like HTD) when I really need them.
I've also been looking at Fluance.
Thoughts?
I don't know what I'm looking for actually, I just would like to buy a set of speakers and receiver with surround sound for gaming and music, it doesn't need any video hook-ups.
