Thread: First Look: Spy Hunter 2

  1. First Look: Spy Hunter 2

Words can not begin to describe the level of excitement when the next-generation release of Spy Hunter was released. (No, really - I can't...go read the review). In its aim to expand the acclaim on the classic franchise, Midway has announced the development of Spy Hunter 2 set to be bigger, badder and most importantly - more enjoyable!

The multi-platform release scheduled for release this Fall will mark the return of the sleek and powerful G-8155 (which I like to think of an alternate version of K.I.T.T), featuring an all-new assortment of power-ups and transformations including off-road and ski vehicles. In addition, each vehicle can be customized with various weapons to suit your style of play. The sequel will feature 16 levels spanned throughout four immense regions allowing players to pick their own path and engage end-mission bosses including eight new Nostra/Phoenix enemies.

    Other features include...

New weapons – Auto-tracking turret and an indestructible armored shield have been added to the gameplay as well as new defensive weapons such as land mines, oil slicks and smokescreens, which allow gamers to play more strategically.

New Enemies – Giant, end-of-mission boss battles including eight all-new original Nostra/Phoenix enemies that require players to use strategy and innovation in addition to firepower and speed. Also added is a cutting edge enemy AI, which reacts based on player’s behavior.

In-Depth Missions – 16 exciting levels set across four gigantic regions that are interactive and dynamic, allowing gamers to choose their own paths through mission areas.

Mysterious and Compelling Storyline – Nostra is back and deadlier than ever! Discover more about who Alec Sects really is, and the mysterious female agent who is somehow intertwined with him.

Introducing New Technology – Leonie 2.0 is the latest version of the Interceptor’s online computer that is designed to provide mission-critical information and tactical advice during missions.

Of course, we expect to find this game playable at E3. First impressions pending, I want to be the first in line.

  2. Sounds great, Bahn. We enjoyed original alot, and now sequel looks even better.

Does it come out for PS2 or all systems?

  3. Those screen shots look a little sloppy, but I have faith in this, because I loved the first Spy Hunter remake so damn much.

  4. Lets hope they take better advantage of the Xbox hardware this time around.

  6. Despair: it's coming for all platforms, with exception to the GBA at the moment.

Regus and "Cynical" Master: I am sure that's like a 40% completed version that you're looking at or what not. I am working on getting some video feeds if at all possible.

Either way....you can bet that I will be reporting some hands-on first impressions the minute I hit the Midway booth. (Hell, perhaps an interview to boot!) @_@
