Thread: Roger Rabbit - Get!

  1. I've got the set. It's worth getting for having all three of the Roger Rabbit short films on them. (On disc 1 for anyone wondering). Add in the rocking documentary, and a commentary (from the laserdisc) that is still one of the best commentaries ever recorded and you have one of the best DVD's yet.

  2. I used to watch my old VHS copy all the time when I was really young. One of my favorites. Wow, that is some spiff packaging. The “Enthusiast” version comes edit-free, right?

    No, it does not have the naked Jessica Frame... they can't leave that in, this is Disney we're talking about. Other then that it's un edited.

    They re-did Herman's "hand up the skirt" scene too. His hand is raised to go under the skirt, but the finger never extends, which is really what made the woman jump. In the new VHS version, the arm is stiff to the side.

    So everyone with the original VHS and Laserdisc better hold on to their copies. Those are totally unedited.

    It's still appalling to have those few seconds cut from the DVD. I mean, they could've made the two scenes an Easter egg or part of a "Deleted Scenes" item.

    And they call Disc Two "Enthusiast"..

    Hmm, just read: Herman's scene can be viewed in it's entirety and uncut on the movie's trailer included on the disc.. Oversight?

  8. Me too. I love Roger Rabbit. Its one of those classics in cinema and animation that everyone should get to see. I have the original DVD version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and I was disappointed that they didn't include the deleted extra scenes. There should also be circa 1982 early Roger Rabbit/Jessica Rabbit pencil tests of the film where the character designs were really weird-looking (this before Steven Spielberg got involved). Are they included in the "enthusiast" version?? Or do we have to wait for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit? : The Definitive Collection"??

    They should've left the Baby Herman scene (with the extended finger) intact as well as the Alison Wonderland and her phonenumber on the bathroom wall for the "enthusiast" version. I mean, why not??

    Also, any word on a Roger Rabbit sequel?? There's at least ONE script floating around somewhere which its premise sounds like it could be fun. Maybe when Robert Zemeckis becomes a ham director we'll see a sequel emerge.
