Thread: Review: Auto Modellista

  1. Review: Auto Modellista

Auto Modellista has finally come 'round to the States and Canada, tweaked and tuned since its initial overseas release. The gameplay may be smoother, but the first thing that grabs you will be the visuals.

[blockquote]It is truly like playing an upgraded version of the Speed Racer cartoon. Even the sense of speed is successfully translated to the look, thanks in part to white lines that Capcom has seen fit add. These basically represent wind whistling past the cars as they move along the track, but the effect is very good.[/blockquote]Read our full review of Auto Modellista here.

  2. Yeah, i saw it for the first time today. We had it on demo for a bit.

I'm not so sure i like the cartoony look. It's interesting, and fun to look at (much like JSRF), but I think i prefer the blindingly awesome visual effects of some of these other games.
WARNING: DO NOT LET DR. MARIO TOUCH YOUR GENITALS. HE IS NOT A REAL DOCTOR.

  3. If they had given it an A I would have chunked in my pants.

  4. I rented the game last weekend. I wasn't sure how I felt at first, especially about the control, but with extended play the game/gameplay gets better and better. It's not the best racing game ever, but it's extremely cool and very fun. Now I really love the game and I am looking forward to purchasing it soon.

If anyone wants to get a good deal, Futureshop is selling the game for just $54c!

  5. I'm certainly intrigued by it, although online play will be a non-factor for me.
It's all about the New York Islanders!!!

  6. Isles, I plan on buying it and I won't be able to play online either. I am sure it'd be a lot of fun.... but I'd say the game is definitely worth a purchase for exclusive offline play.

Hell, in Europe it was released without even having an online option!

It's not the deepest or best racing game... it's just really cool and really fun. If I had to score it I'd give it a B or B+. I am really hoping they eventually come out with a sequel that improves on some things. There us mucho potential here.
