Thread: Axelay

  1. i never saw what was so great about this game. i picked it up based on many gamers' recommendation, but was completely disappointed. sure, the mode 7 effect is pretty cool, but the game is pretty easy, the ship felt kinda heavy, and there wasn't much flow to it.

Axelay is the very definition of a game that needs to be ported to GBA.

Iridion II doesn't look like a bad consolation, though.

  4. Very fun...I loved it.

If I could find an MP3 of the second stage music, I'd die a happy man.

Exactly. I think the reason is that not as many people played space megaforce/ super aleste.

  7. I preferred Macross Scrambled Valkyrie to Space Megaforce. I just didn't see what was so great about SM. Maybe it was just me.

The unforgettable music? (I still hum it to this day) The vibrant graphics? The insane powerups? The last boss? The evil manic difficulty when you set it to that mode where every dead enemy fires a last shot at you? What wasn't so great about SMF?

You could always get the SPC decoder for winamp and download the rom to hear it... Or hell, you could dump it to .wav yourself and re-encode it into a mp3 for your listening pleasures.
