Thread: What non console gaming styles do like the best?

  1. What non console gaming styles do like the best?

Well, which style do you like best? I like the arcades the best, and I play games on emulators on a regular basis(arrr, matey).

If portables somehow beat PC, I'm going to lose faith in you all.

  2. I'm not sure I understand the question so well...most decent arcade games come to consoles anyway, and most portable games are ports of older console games (perhaps not always literally, but they just seem to be retracing older technology and genres). So, I guess PC would be the answer, although that doesn't seem very conclusive of anything.

If we're talking all of video game history, then I would choose arcade.

If we're talking just the past decade, then I would choose PC.

  4. If we're talking all of videogames history, then I would choose arcade.

If we're talking just the past decade, then I would choose portable.

  5. Arcade, followed closely by handheld, with PC in last.

  6. Arcade. There's just something about kicking some little kid's ass at SF3:TS right in front of his dad. I love it!

J/K. I dig the arcade because it's all about getting a huge gang of friends together and hanging out, kicking eachother's butts and the like.

  7. I have played Star Craft, Quake 2, Civilization 1/2 and Asheron's Call more than any other games combined... Yah, I would say PC.

  8. Asheron's Call is the shizzy! Darktide?

  9. Sorry, arcade. I wanted to vote for you, I really did. But portable gaming just has so much more variety than you these days....

Portable gaming owns PC gaming in every way, shape, and form, BTW.

All of them are just a matter of taste really.

If the adventure genre were still vital, I might be more iclined to say PC.
