The Video Game Bible - First ever extensive print price Guide!

So I'm out today at this nice little Gaming store near me and ask some questions about certin games. The clerk said let's look it up? He proceeds to pull out a large price guide that describes the game and has an actual price listing for it. I asked where I could get one as I never knew one existed and he told me. I must get one!

It even has overviews of import systems, I know alot of you wanted to see one for Games so here it is!

I can't vouch for the accuarcy of the prices but I imagine dealers/collectors may use it as a reference.

I kind of hope price guides don't become popular. One thing I like about shopping for games at pawn shops is that they are usually run by non-gamers who price every game on the same system the same. If they find out about price guides they might up the price considerably for some games.

  3. What a fugly site. Also, it has the words: Welcome to the next level or something like that on the bottom. Now that's a weird coincedence.

  4. I've actually seen that book before as well, it's really cool. I like how they add little comments for almost all the games.

Yep. If these things take hold, you can kiss the days of finding Panzer Dragoon Saga for $8 in a flea market goodbye.

  6. Too bad the PSX isn't in their guide Thats about the only system I collect for right now...

  7. Pricing guides would be more useful if the prices didn't fluctuate so much, since they don't, the guides tend to be a tad worthless. Good to use when you're looking for a deal though.

  8. Price resources for the masses has sorta taken a lot of the fun out of looking for treasure at flea markets and such. I bought a Sinclair 1000 computer today, basically never been used. The lady who was selling it was a very nice older lady, she said she'd take $6 for it. I figured, fine...the manual has to be worth $5.

So I took it, she then said "Yeah, I was just gonna sell it on eBay if I didn't get rid of it today".

I figured I got hosed or really didn't 'score', but it still turned out that they usually sell in the high 20's and 30 dollar range so I'm happy. I'm not fully sure if I wanna sell it though, it's awfully cool.

At any rate, even today when people know about all of these places where you can sell and buy anything...they don't always get around to using them.

It takes a bit of the fun out of it for some places, but maybe you'll just have to dig a little harder and get a little more lucky (dude, Antique's Roadshow is a scary ass show. Some lady bought a statue for $2CAN and it was worth about $15,000...and it was a very cool statue as well, can't remember the artist's name but it was from the 1920's and it was very 'Ghost in the Shell').

Assuming the game shop is in Minnesota, what shop is it and where is it located? I'd like to drop by next time I am home.
