I caught it on HBO Sunday morning and man, is this movie shit. It could have been awesome, but it ended up being complete ass, aside from a few funny bits.

For those of you who aren't familiar with it, some guy got an old 70's kung fu movie and digitally cleaned it up, re-shot some scenes, and inserted himself into the movie. There are some funny jokes, but the vast majority of them are just not the least bit funny and usually just plain stupid. I mean, like, REALLY stupid. The concept is beyond brilliant, however, and it's a shame to see it wasted like this. This could have been a great parody of kung fu movies. Still, it's worth a watch simply for the impressive digital techniques displayed in making it. The new footage blends almost perfectly with the old. Man, what I could have done with this movie...

I think that Kung Pow is one of the funniest movies I'd seen in a while.

Just don't approach it trying to take it "kung fu movie" seriously.......it's more like a "Mystery Science Theatre" type of film. With Kung Pow, though, it's either love it or hate it. Seems that you fall into the category of the latter. It's true, there are some parts with dumb humor, but I manage to over look those shortcomings.

You have to admit though, the stomach plug and Wimp Lo are both classic.

Kung Pow is definitely one of the stupidest movies ever made. It is also pretty damn funny, mainly because of it being stupid.

Many people aren't going to like the MST3K style of comedy, but for those who do, then this movie should be a blast! The 5 minute long cow fighting scene went on about 4 minutes too long IMHO.

Sorry to hear that you didnt like it D. We found to be rather hillarious. The dubbing was one of the best parts of it, with characters sporting insane voices, and names.

I said that some parts were funny, like the fat Chinese guy turning on the boom box whenever Master Pain/Betty would fight ("I like big butts!"), and Wimp Lo ruled, but overall the jokes "missed" waaay more then they "hit". Sorry guys, but Toungey was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen in a movie.

Ugh. I love parodies. Even bad parodies. But still... this movie was just awful. Compleatly un-funny for the most part. Ok, the scene where the hero gets the crap beaten out of him by those guys with the wooden poles was hillarious, but the rest of the movie....zzzzz.

Kung Pow was hilarious.

Sure, Tonguey and the cow fight were stupid and not funny at all... but the other jokes were classic.
