This is why I never understand why people keep saying that Nintendo is in trouble or whatever. They make a profit every year, whether or not the profit is as much as they expected...that's different.
Forget the fact that they expected to make $600 million dollars and focus on the fact that they still made $500 million.
God, give me some of that trouble.
One thing that that article didn't touch, and I personally feel is one of the biggest problems, is it's trendy to hate Nintendo. People who buy a lot of games or a variety of games often meet and commune in similar places, specifically online or perhaps in stores. In these places it's considered 'hip' to talk shit on Nintendo.
They're not even gamers. Gamers appreciate a game on it's merits, they don't focus on it's faults unless they greatly outweigh it's benefits. These people are just geeks who wanna be 'cool'. If you're above cute graphics or bright colors then it's very likely that you're not a geek...you're just a cool guy. "Hey, ladies, cool guy here...I just play games with blood and violence in it, you can imagine the size of my penis by that fact alone."
A gamer accepts the fact that he's a geek.
If you play games, you're a geek. Deal with it. You might as well do it up right and have some fun. Play some fucking Pikmin you tool.
Really good article. I hardly see people pick up GC games. Honestly, except for the big titles, it's XB and PS2 games in people's hands. (The proliferation of) articles like this, however, might exacerbate an already unfavorable situation.
Not a bad article at all. The point I disagree with is them stating that this might be a weak year for Nintendo's 1st/2nd party games. Just off the top of my head, there's F-Zero, Starfox Armada, Pikmin 2 and Mario 128. Cube's got my interest peaked this year.![]()
Nintendo's problems have nothing to do with money. their problem is that they lose half of their market share every generation.
next generation might be the last console that Nintendo can sell.
Blaine, that rant was pure genius. It's what I've always thought, but have never been able to get down in text, all summed up into a few sentences. Despite what others might say, you're speaking the fucking truth. Thank you. They're not even gamers. Pretty good article. I agree how it says that at the moment Nintendo has nothing to fear and this is true, but it does have to be weary about the future. I'm very interested in hearing what Nintendo has in store for us with the next console. I just hope they dont lose another half of their market on the next system. Live long and prosper Nintendo.
Why would you need market share when you're turning a profit? This seems to be your big arguement yet you ignore the fact that Nintendo churns a profit, so market share is literally worth nothing to them.Originally posted by Lucas Barton

Xbox has more 'market share' than them, or maybe a scoch less and they lose tons on one console, so it's useless unless you're in the majority like Sony.
