Thread: 28 Days Later - Zombies Invade England

  1. i saw it a few weeks ago. it was really good. i liked the little twist in there.

  2. Just a collection of my thoughts I posted earlier at NeoMega:

"I finally finished the film, and have torn feelings about it. I liked first half, the idea of infection and feroucious infected, but later half, and ending wasnt that good. Some scenes at the mansion were cool, as Jim turned into Rambo fast runner, but it should have had more gory infected action."

"This film fell victim to low budget. You can try and make the end of the world pic on tiny budget, but its very hard to succede. While the scenes of empty London were great, it still was missing the bodies, ruins and all other signs of major evacuation and devastation. Plus I wanted to see MORE infected. Few we got to see were great and very deadly, but there were just not enough of them, even at the end.

On dvd there are few deleted scenes, one with characters trying to get trough some of the blocked streets to get out of London, and the funniest thing is that while underneath the bridge where scene takes place everything is dead and abandoned, on the top of the bridge, behind the row of burned cars, its London traffic as usual "

"Well, I didnt say it was unbelievable since they did do a great job trying to portrait an abandoned cityscape with a tiny budget, but in the end low budged still hurt the film BIG TIME.

Another thing was where did all the people go? The streets should be flooded by either dead bodies, and hordes of infected(London has poppulation of atleast 5-6 million, and I'm sure they couldnt evacuate all of them in such short time.

Plus, to have the infection only in England is comewhat a copout, since they mention that when it started, the infection spread to other countries, but at the end its like it was only in England.

I liked most of it, but the ending was little too happy.

  3. I saw it months ago, when it first came out here.

Great film. I'd really recommend it.

(BTW they were just assuming when they said it spread to other countries. It's what the rest of the world would want them to think, anyway).

  4. Godspeed is doing the soundtrack? I was going to see this, but now I really want to see it.

Maybe they ate the dead people.

Other than that, looks like what I posted 6 or so posts ago :P

  6. the infection wasn't worldwide. it was only in great britain. that was great when they figured that out.

    haha...they were quarantined! w00t!

Well this is coming out June 27th to the theatres, but since it is already out on DVD, though I don't know how widespread, it may be a tough sell, of course most people haven't heard about it. I will see it on the big screen though.

  8. Well, There are no US R1 dvd release, only UK R2 Pal one, so for majority of people in US seeing it in the theaters next week will be a first time experience.

If you like horror films, you should check it out. Its decent, even with the flaws and low budged, and while some parts dissapointed me, I still consider it decent movie.
