Thread: 28 Days Later - Zombies Invade England

In that case, I'll have to check it out. It's getting a pretty good buzz. I wonder if there are any variations from the Pal version?

  2. I read about possible trimming of few parts, especially a bit at the hospital in the beginning, that features some male full frontal nudity(not something that will be missed by many people anyway ), and I'm not sure(but hope) that certain eye gouging scene will stay intact, but otherwise it should be present in the original way.

Aw no male frontal nudity? shucks

Seriously I hope they don't cut gore down, and just for principal they leave the Movie as it was originally intended, male naughty bits and all.

The Omega Man fucking destroys 28 Days Later. You should be banned for comparing of of Heston's shining moments to this shitty movie.

  5. Very excited about this one. Going to the theatre to see it tonight
It seems to be getting a somewhat limited release here, because the two of the three main cinemas around me are not getting it...

  6. Ebert gave it 3 stars !!

    Here is review: http://www.suntimes.com/output/ebert...-later27f.html

Decent review and he liked the film, except for the ending.

He brings an interesting question though:

"Those surviving zombies raise the question: How long can you live once you have the virus? Since London seems empty at the beginning, presumably the zombies we see were survivors until fairly recently. Another question: Since they run in packs, why don't they attack one another? That one, the movie doesn't have an answer for."

Yeah, Where did all dead bodies go, and why infected only attack normal people???

Also, The Omega Man, as fantastic as it is, is a re-make of The Last Man On Earth with Vincent Price. Just switch Vampires for Zombies and you have TOM.

    TOM: 9
    TLMOE: 8
    28DL: 4

  8. I liked it. Never seen Omega Man or Last Man on Earth, though. My biggest complaint was later on when all of a sudden Jim turned into Rambo somehow. The music and cinematography was great.

    POSSIBLE SPOILER***************
Near the end of the movie, it says "28 Days later" So I'd assume the infection lasts about a month until it "starves".

As for zombie vs zombie...have we ever seen zombies attack each other before? Not that I know of. They probably taste shitty. And they're supposed to be walking dead, so maybe they need fresh tissue to feed on. Chomping on a fellow zombie probably wouldn't do anything for 'em. Zombies are supposed to be simple minded, just after sustanance and nothing else.

The lack of dead bodies? That's all about budget I'd assume.

  10. Well, In zombie case yes, but infected are not technically zombies, who were driven by hunger. Infected with Rage virus attack everything in sight, thus logically they should attack each other, but in film they team up instead to hunt for normal people. While not a big plot hole, it still somewhat noticeable.

As for the lack of bodies and major scenes of destruction, its all because of low budget constraints, as I originally wrote.
