SSX 3

I've seen similar complaints elsewhere in the thread, and it has occurred to me:

When the biggest complaint on a board like this is that the characters don't talk enough or they miss a particular announcer - not the gameplay, the graphics, or the music - you KNOW it's a fantastic game.

Too bad it takes away from the atmosphere. What really set SSX apart, at least for me, was the style that it had. It had some awesome characters (for me, all the characters in SSX 3 are pretty generic now, espically the new ones), rahzel added a TON to the game (the new DJ has already been turned off in my game), and the interaction between the characters gave them alot of charm.

Had they actually made the characters from SSX and Tricky who were left out more than just palette swaps, I would have actually have been pretty happy. I would have rather they left them out, then tease me with them.


Don't get me wrong, I do love the game, and think it's miles better than any other snowboarding game, and it'll remain on top for awhile. But like someone else said, I wouldn't be surprised at all if SSX 3 Tricky or some such came out, and fixed some of the atmosphere complaints.

Hey guys, I'm really scared about the music. Tricky nailed the soundtrack. It was excellent. But with all this new stuff, I'm a bit worried. Is it really crap? Or am I fearing for nothing?

Its actually quite good but it's not as crisp, along with the voices, as in Tricky. It could be just my tv speakers though since they are nothing special.

There are some pop'ish rock songs that grate me but I just leave them out of the playlist and mostly play the elctronica/mixed music. If you go to the official website you can sample them.

Yeah, you just have to buy them. You get some for free as credits to racing certain events well enough but after those are gone you have to spend cash. The songs are growing on me but I haven't listened to all the tracks to their entirety yet.

So far I kind of like the Tricky songs better but that could change.

I prefer the techno-funk of Tricky. Are there any songs that emulate that style? If not, I can see myself turning the volume down and blasting a stereo.

Yeah the Red Hot Chili Peppers remixed song 'Higher Ground' is on par with the Tricky song. Other good ones are the remixed N.E.R.D song 'Rock Star' and X-Ecutioners 'Like this' which I thought was the song they remixed of a Linkin Park/Static-X collaboration but it's not.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the selection.

I haven't bought any of the extra stuff yet, I'm still working on getting all my attributes filled.

Free riding the entire mountain is way more fun than any single event imho.
