Yup.
Maybe we should e-mail EA about this phenomena.
Someone figured it out on Gamefaqs, I believe, and EA confirmed it. Basacially, you can only put so much stuff on your character so your character dosen't slow down the game, from having too many polygons.Originally Posted by DjRocca

Okay, finally got this game. Seems really good, although I'm really sucky now, not having played anything since the original SSX on PS2.
Some questions...why is the turbo button also a grab button? If I'm turboing along and get a little air, I try to grab and biff it. Also, is there a way to quickly get to the lodge? I don't really appreciate having to board down from the top of the mountain to get to it anytime I want to buy stuff.
Otherwise, seems great. The sound is sweet in Xbox's 5.1 SS, and while not mind-blowing, the graphics are pretty nice. Besides what I mentioned, my only complaint is the insane amount of controls I end up using during certain tricks...pretty much every button on the controller, all in weird combinations...the game has a really steep learning curve, but, I think I'm getting the hang of it again.
To get to the lodge, just go to Transport in the menu, go to Freeride, and pick a station, and it'll drop you right in front of the lodge.Originally Posted by FuryFox
For the controls, that's just how the Xbox controls are. I guess they didn't have enough buttons, or something of that nature.

That turbo/grab button is probably my only gripe with this game (on the Xbox). It's too good to put down.
And thanks for the info on that "polygon bar". That's certainly something new.
I've played both the XBOX and PS2 versions now and must admit, the PS2 is way better, as the controls are perfect (on "pro").
I had a huge problem with that boost/grab button, and the PS2 has no such problem to speak of.
How do you buy new music tracks for the game? I've been to the lodge, and I can do in the music options is switch the type of track play.
You have to go to the 'edit playlist' part of the lodge and you can buy the tracks there.Originally Posted by Captain Vegetable

edit: nevermind. figured it out. stupid vague instructions.
Man, I love raceing down the tracks in this game but, in my opinion, the "backwoods" areas suck ass. They're just no fun.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.
