    Though it is closer to truth (the PS2 being WT not the Japs being WT) than most of us want to admit. You don't see many Gamecubes in trailer parks, I bet.

    Agreed. While I have nothing against people who go hunting, I would find it much easier to pull the trigger on a human than a deer. Most of them have it coming anyway.

    I don't think it's a shame at all. Back in the glory years of the late 70's and early 80's, Atari had released games spanning just about every major genre. Atari shouldn't be only reserved for rereleases of classic video games, or pigeonholed into certain genres like shoot-em-ups or driving games. I for one am glad that Infogrames is using the Atari name on a wide variety of games. They seem to be proud of it as a video game brand. It's a lot better than what Hasbro was doing with the name, and significantly better than what JTS was doing with it. Let 'em keep doing it.

    My only complaint is that many of the recent Atari releases (over the last 7-8 months) haven't been all that hot. On the bright side, some of my friends really dig the Godzilla game that came out on GameCube and X-Box, and Grand Prix Challenge on the PlayStation 2 is supposed to be one of the best Formula One games ever for a video game console. Of course, there's also Ikaruga for GameCube, and Enter the Matrix is looking really promising, too.

    With regard to the general negativity on this thread about a Deer Hunter game for PS2, I think that's a sad state of affairs. You might not like the game, and I might not like it (I don't know, never played any of them), but the fact of the matter is that a lot of people do like them. Apparently, they sell well enough that companies like Infogrames and Activision keep churning them out year after year. I see no complaints from the peanut gallery that EA and Sega keep churning out football and basketball games year after year.

    Anyone ever hear of the saying "One man's trash is another man's treasure?" Well, my fellow Americans, there are a lot of people out there who consider this to be treasure. They would buy this before they buy a Final Fantasy or Zelda game. Although I'm not into these hunting games, frankly speaking, I probably would buy it before a Final Fantasy or Zelda game, too. (Diffusionx knows very well where I stand on this issue. .)

    Too late. According to a couple of sites, this is an online game.

    I'm glad Infogrames decided to make this game. Even though I probably wouldn't get it for myself, at least they are contributing a game in a genre that many people are interested in, yet has been largely untouched on video game systems for some strange reason. It's another good example of video games appealing to mainstream audiences, and even though some people here apparently resent it with their "I'm a real HARDCORE gamer" mentality, I can assure you that it is most definitely a good thing for the industry in general.
