    Hehheh...heh. I knew that.
    Thanks.

  2. Good one, Seven.

Veggie - That's just the 2P color A type ship.
    EDIT: Bern has you covered.

A-S is one of the hardest ships to really use successfully in DDP. Not only is it really difficult to link chains with, but it's so quick that you'll often run into bullets while trying to avoid them. This may not be the case for everyone, though.

I can see the dislike for the almighty C ship, but I don't think it is justified. Sure it's a little slow, but this makes to even easier to navigate fields of bullets. And it's shot is a tad bit weak, but once you start hitting those combos you'll appreaciate it. The laser really comes in handy because it makes your ship even slower [C-S], which I think comes in handy in lots of situations. More than you might think.

Preferences, preferences, I know. I originally used the A-S but when I hopped into the C-S, there was no turning back.

  3. Coupla questions...
    1) Are there any domestically released and easily accessible Cave games?
    B) Is Cave pronounced "Khayv" or "Kahv-ay". It is a Japanese company, after all...

  4. I propose that the "disco man 'smiley'" be added. Agree?
Heaven is here inside my soul!! (AKA - hell yea)

    1.] Nope.

    B.] Plain old 'cave' [khayv.]

  6. Poko was a good, simple puzzler. Good chance you'll beat it in your first play, but still quite fun. Also a good way to get into PCB/Cave games because the board can be had for very cheap (sub $50)

I only have the Saturn version of DP, but can confirm that the slowdown's kinda annoying and the audio quite scratchy. Wanna trade?
I would prefer the PSX version but it's pretty hard to come by. The Saturn version is more readily available so I'll probably end up with that one.

  8. Yeah, cigs, I remember you used to share my DDP opinion, and I was surprised to see you changed your mind. Do you still play A-type? Does bern-d (or anyone else) have some good A-type videos I can watch?
In DDP I still play A-L, and have found no real reason so far to switch. You have to be willing to sort of be all over the screen later on in the game, but I don't like the alternative- a huge shot which I feel like I can't control my chaining with.

I started playing DOJ with A-L, but once I began getting to 1-3 and 4 regularly I decided I'd need the advantages A-Exy provides to make any headway. The larger shot seems more necessary than in DDP, but I could be wrong. I'll have to experiment with A-S when I go back to the original DDP.

As for videos, the only thing I have is the fake Aichi-Ken replay with type A-L that you have to watch through MAME. Since it IS fake, he does some unbelievable stuff in stage 3 that isn't really applicable, but overall the strategies are helpful and you can learn a lot from it.

  9. Does anyone know what the Ketsui PCB fetches?
    Boo, Hiss.
