Personally, I feel Hugo is a great addition. Most other grapplers' move lists are way too 360-degree-controller-motion-centric, which I despise.

I really hope they do something unique with all the characters instead of rehashing them for the hundredth time. Those who play fighting games alot are tired of the same ole shotos and whatnot, and I doubt 2D fighters are drawing new people to them much. Go in a new direction, please.

No, a new direction with the characters. Like that non-fireball Ryu that was discussed earlier. Fighting enthusiasts have played all these characters over and over. I honestly don't think 2D fighters will ever draw in a ton of new players. If it's not 3D with bump mapping, it must be a piece of crap.Companies like Playmore right now have the difficult task of making a fighting game with enough originality to spark the interest of fighting fans, but at the same time not do too much different or else it might bomb.
I've said a million times that I want the old Street Fighter cast wiped from the face of the earth. I mean, what's to stop moving ahead 20 years or so, where Mel has grown up? Maybe Ken could've been killed by Ryu after he became overcome by the dark hadou, which would provide a nice story for Mel entering the tourney. Leave Ryu as the boss of the game.
Still, I'll buy new 2D fighters as long as they're made.
