Thread: Thinking Outside the NeXt Box

  1. buy some japanese developers to make games instead of buying wastes of space and crap exclusives, apparently ms still hasnt learnt their lesson as rumors continue of them buying more american developers, they need to get a fucking clue and buy capcom, namco, or even sega, as well as some smaller japanese development houses like spike and aki, then they would start getting somewhere
Them buying more companies = them being closer to a monopoly in the console wars = there being no more console wars = a stagnant and a dark age of videogame history.

i didnt say it would be good for the videogame industry, i just posted what i think ms should do to get somewhere in japan, if i had to have a monopoly with one videogame company it would have to be sony, they have shown themselves to be fair to consumers even though they have what is basically a monopoly now, nintendo has already shown they can't be trusted and ms just has no fucking clue about the console videogame industry still

  3. I don't think there is anything they can do. Japan is extremely homogeneous and from the few times I've been there, I've seen that they tend to shun anything foreign. They prefer Japanese products. So no matter what M$ does, they'll always be seen as the American company trying to get in on an industry that is, for the most part, Japanese. That's my opinion from a sociocultural standpoint. The best idea was the one about outsourcing the production to a Japanese company, but I'm not sure if even that would work.

Didnt mean to point the finger at you juss saying MS buying out more videogame companies is not a good thing. Nintendo's rap sheet is not nearly as long as Microsofts. But anyways any company whether it be Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft having a monopoly in videogame consoles is not going to be good. I just feel that if MS gets on top they will make it so that they stay there at all costs. Just my 2 cents.
