Well, no, cuz the Oracle specifically says that he's a program. But programs can do alot within the Matrix, so I don't think that was limiting him in any way.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

Duh, he built it with his Commodore 64.

  3. lol
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  4. I'm gonna walk out of the theater during revolutions if the "matrix" turns out to be some busted ass 386 trying to load Windows 3.1 or something.

  5. Without reading any other impressions, I'd just like to say what I thought of it.

The first 30 - 45 minutes I thought were crap. I was insulted almost. I somehow expected better of the film.

AFTERWARDS: I enjoyed the movie more and more as it went on, culminateing in a pretty damned good movie. It didn't do for me what the first did (which might very well be impossible) but it keeps with its guns and the majority of the movie was very much in the same spirit of the first. The story does grow more complex, but not too difficult to understand. The first was easy, and introduction to a heavy concept (which some may disagree with me on) but the second elaborates on it and still manage to pull some white rabbits out of its hat. I didn't stay after the credits since seeing a preview isn't going to help my wanting to see the next.

The rave at Zion didn't need to be shown, I thought it was dumb and counter to what the last outpost of humanity deep under the surface of the earth should be like, and if anything... it wasn't cyber-punk enough to justify it (if only to fit in with the theme). I expected Carson Daily to be spoted during that way too long scene.

As far as action goes: I am impressed. I especially enjoyed the wave-after-wave of Agent Smith... he and Neo are a big reason why I enjoy the films. The highway stuff was impressive though I somehow expected more (from what all they were making of it) but I wasn't let down by any means. It was good enough, but they made it sound like I would just shake my head at amazement.

I like it alot. That's my say. I can imagine there will be nay-sayers though and that's totally cool. The first still seems better to me, but this one isn't bad at all (excpet that one part).

  7. Entire movie was brilliant. I have zero issues with anything. I expected them to "Empire" my ass and they did, November isn't that far away.

I did NOT think they could mindfuck me again like they did with the first Matrix, but man...did they ever.

    Awesome. Absolutely awesome.

  8. i dont get the whole Architech thing. is he saying that there really isnt a 'real world' and that Neo and all of the people in Zion are just in another Matrix seperate from the one they thing is real?? sort of like:
    Real World -> Matrix -> Zion/Defector Matrix

with all the stuff going on the background (damned TVs!) it was kind of hard to concentrate.

and i vaugely get what Frenchie was talking about. gonna have to download me the DVD-Screener (i mean.... see it again... in the theaters... ) and figure it out.

  9. i got 5 bucks that the ending goes like this...

    -big climactic battle-
    -more philisophical crap-
-a final 'but what is the matrix?'-

*fade out of screen into 'matrix effects'(such as when it shows the audience what it looks like thru the phone line with all the green shit)*

fade in to a dork programming pong in his basement in the 70s

    THE END

  10. I just got back from seeing this movie and I just felt that I had to say SOMETHING about it.

First off, I didn't like the first Matrix movie. I thought it was way over hyped. In my opinion the original Matrix was anywhere between OK and good not great. I would have given it a 3 out of 5 AT THE MOST. Also, I hate action movies. I can't remember the last action movie that I actually liked. Therefore I walked into The Matrix Reloaded thinking that it would be utter crap. I thought it would be the same as the first but far worse since it was a sequel. My friend dragged me to the theater to see this. I didn't appreciate having to wait in a long ass line for a sequel to a movie I didn't care for.

The movie started and the whole crowd of people was cheering. At the same time, I was booing because I just knew that the movie would be a piece of shit. Then all of a sudden something happened. The movie started to seem a bit interesting to me. My major problem with the first Matrix film was that the whole Zion place or what ever its called seemed like too vague of a concept to me. I wanted to see more of this place. If our world is the Matrix I wanted to see what this "real world" was really like. SO, I appreciated how they fleshed out this concept a little bit in Reloaded. The characters started interacting in the movie and everything was starting to flesh out. I highly appreciated the scenes of lengthy dialogue at the beginning of the film...all the philosophical talk was intriguing and I liked all the allusions to Neo as a God like figure in this film...especially when him and Trinity come out of the elevator to a crowd of people all waiting for him to perform some kind of miracle...it was quite intriguing to see Neo tempted by so many things as well. I gained greater respect for the Morpheus character too. I really didn't care for his character at the end of the first Matrix. He definitely established himself as a strong character in this movie and he showed tons of faith....

Then, there was some sort of weird huge rave/orgy/sex/WTF? scene that lasted a couple minutes too long. The scene may have been more interesting if I could actually figure out what was going on. There seemed to be a sex scene between Neo and Trinity somewhere in there, but hell if I know. That whole scene was cut and edited so shitty that REALLY anything could have been happening. I then figured, well it looks like the movie is about to start sucking right about NOW. The movie just had to start getting even more awful. I was sure of it.....

Well, all of a sudden the movie started to pick up. I am not sure when the movie started to pick up because I still can't believe all the stuff I saw in this movie. If I were to see the movie 10 times I still wouldn't be able to explain everything I saw. All I know is that what I saw was phenomenal and judging by the person sitting next to me who kept screaming and moaning "Yes!!! OH MY God YES!!!" it was probably a pretty orgasmic experience for many people in the audience as well.

My expectations going into Matrix Reloaded were absolutely ZERO. I planned on hating this movie. However, the action in the movie just didn't seem to stop. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I couldn't get the damn smile off of my face. These guys have taken the action genre and re-defined it. I don't think we will see an action movie this spectacular for a long long time...we will have to wait another 6 months for one this good I haven't had this much fun at the movies in a LONG LONG time. On top of this, the story actually interested me this time. The added layers of depth to the Matrix and the little twists were quite compelling. Combining this story with all the unbelievable action made for an enjoyable film. Seriously, I did not want this movie to end...every time I thought it was ending it didn't and I was glad. I would sit through six hours of this movie if they made it that long. I wanted to see Revolutions as soon as Reloaded was finished.

My only complaints with Reloaded are the over reliance on CGI and that stupid rave/sex/orgy/WTF!?! scene toward the beginning. While most of the special effects looked amazing some of them looked way too fake. In a couple scenes I could have sworn I was playing a video game.

Although, this is another aspect of the movie I liked. They went all out with Neo's abilities in this movie! The more over the top the action scenes got the more amazed I was. The more he acted like some kind of super hero or video game character the more I loved the movie. Some of the action scenes in the movie were so amazing and over the top that they radiated a coolness that only the geekiest comic book nerds in the world could come up with. This geek factor was even further proven with the "you can have your cake and get off too" sequence. I knew it was coming when I first heard the guy talk about adding something "special" to the cake. I thought it was going to happen, but I didn't believe it would. I couldn't believe that they would actually stray into that territory with a movie like the Matrix. Yet they absolutely positively did! By all rights this scene didn't belong in the movie. It didn't advance the plot along in any way in my opinion. Plus, it sure as hell probably would not have been in there if the movie was PG-13. But hell, the film makers kept their integrity. They wanted this scene in the movie and they left it in. It didn't matter if it seemed kind of immature and way out of left field. It was a great idea and I am glad they went through with it. That scene is worth the price of admission alone This is not a scene Spielberg would have included if he made The Matrix

Well, I can go on and on and on about this movie. There is just so much to talk about and I don't even know where to start. I will stop boring you guys now though....

In conclusion, before I saw this film I thought I would hate it. A sequel to an over hyped sci-fi action film...oh boy! I came out of the movie loving every second of it. It is one of those rare occasions that the sequel is better than the first movie. The first movie showed potential but it lacked a certain something. With Reloaded these film makers have caught lightning in a bottle. This movie was so good that it was deserving of its overly lengthy ending credit sequence (it was so long I kept looking to see if they were going to list my name too). It is a phenomenal picture and it actually makes the first Matrix film better than what it was. Reloaded lives up to the hype of all three films and surpasses it ten fold! Before I didn't want anything to do with the Matrix. NOW, I need to run to the store and pick up the first Matrix on DVD, the Animatrix DVD, and The Enter the Matrix video game. I didn't even give a single thought to buying any of these until I saw Reloaded. They took a whole second film to do it, but I am now a fan of the Matrix. I give Reloaded a 5/5! I need to see it at least three or four more times.
