I guess dodging CG cars gets some people going.
Excellent movie, and the chase scene was spectacular, but Reloaded's was still executed better.Originally posted by MVS
For all movies, RoninI actually haven't seen this movie, but I have yet to see an older (pre-90's) car chase scene I really enjoy at all.BullitHorrible camera work, good chase ideas, pathetic execution (the only good part was the steel tank being shot around), and that final jump scene was just... ugh.Gone in 60 Seconds
As for Blues Brothers, the chase scene was the only part of that movie I didn't love. It was damned humorous watching the police cars pile up and when they drive through the mall, but not very tense or exciting.
Regarding Who Am I?, I only really remember the fight against the Asian and the Russian, the rest of the movie always seemed pretty throw-away to me. But that was one helluva fight scene.
Reloaded's chase scene was excellent throughout, and the scene with Trinity driving backwards into traffic makes my heart race every single time I see it. No other car chase in any movie I've seen has that effect.

It's not all CG cars, she was doing 40 into oncoming traffic.
Yeah, that was Who Am I? One of my favorite Chan movies, found it on DVD for 10 bucks. One of these days I'm going to collect all of my favorite Chan movies. I've seen so many they all kind of blur together.
Well, It could have been a GREAT car chase if they DIDNT friggin slow time for EVERY friggin car crash. After first 2 it became quite tiresome, and was actually hurting the chase.Originally posted by MechDeus

That's CG.
Which is a shame, because that's the part that almost had a sense of speed.
you would think cg would look better than it does in recent movies. looks so freakin fake. these people need to get on the ball!
...eh. I have to go with the Blues Brothers for the #1 car chase.Originally posted by MechDeus
Reloaded has the greatest car chase scene of all time. GREATEST. CAR CHASE. EVER.
Dang, beat me to it.Originally posted by BerringerX
Negative.
I concur with MVS on those chases, but I gotta add Blues Brothers to that list.
Yeah, I can't beleive I forgot that one. Berr's right though.
I enjoy watching movies and immersing myself. Yes, I can spot the CG, but unless it's utter crap I don't let that bother me. If you feel the scene wasn't as good because it was "constructed" instead of using stuntmen, then so be it. But since they wouldn't have been able to pull that shot off normally (there's no way they would put Carrie on a motorcycle doing that, and with a stunt person the camera couldn't be where it is), I don't see a problem.Originally posted by MVS

A lot of those shots would've been impossible, but there are those who prefer the slower pacing. I'm an action junkie, so having it faster and more over-the-top is more interesting to me.
I agree with MechDeus. The highway scene was over-the-top fucking sick awesome nasty like. I dont care what any of you say, there was no way the car chase scenes in Gone in 60 Seconds was better than the MR highway scene. As for the other movies... well I didnt see them, nor do I care to.
