Kaneko is one of the most under rated arcade publishers ever, and here I’m dedicated this thread to their cult classic hentai/puzzle games- Gals Panic.
The objective of the game is to control this little dot thing and outline the silhouette of some teenage Japanese girls, while dodging enemy fire and keeping in mind the various obstacles on the screen. This might sound like the precursor to games like BMXXX, but it’s actually a very polished arcade game.
If you can enjoy eighties classics like Robotron and Tron, you will probably enjoy it as it has a similar design philosophy behind it. The game starts out dead easy and then slowly builds up into one of the most intense dodging fests I’ve ever seen. It’s really similar to modern shooters like DDP in this regard.
There are some similar games for the JPS1, Sillhouette Stories and the Volfied(I might be confusing the name on this one)they aren’t as deep as GP, but at least they don’t have the cheap titties.=\

You could have saved half of the gameplay description by just saying "It's a Qix clone".
The later ones differ from Qix in that you work outward from a square in the center instead of from the edge.
And yeah, the later Gals Panic games are great. They are a guilty pleasure of mine.
Nippon Shootemups has an excellent non-hentai clone called Gals Pani X. It lets you move freely with in your own territory and throws shootery firing patterns at you. Very cool.

Btw, what version are these pics from? (PCengine?) I know the arcade one is tate mode only.

Those are from the arcade version.

Yeah, I should have said that. And these games are much better than Miss World 96 from what I can remember.

Which ones are adult-oriented... ie, have a bit of nudity? I'm kind of confused by the series' chronology across the various platforms.
As my late grandfather was fond of saying, if you're going to have to play Qix, you may as well see some tits too.
The games are decent but I doubt anyone would want to play them without the chicks.
