  1. Indiana Jones DVD trilogy officially announced!

May 06, 2003 - For some, it's the Holy Grail of DVD. For others, it's second only to the Original Star Wars Trilogy. No matter how you put it, this is the biggest DVD announcement since the format was introduced in 1997.

The Indiana Jones Trilogy is coming to DVD.

Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade will arrive November 4th in a four-disc box set that includes an extra disc filled with new special features and goodies from the Lucasfilm Archives.

All three films have been digitally restored by Lowry Digital Images, who made Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs look so eye-popping two years ago. Aside from the digital cleaning, no alterations were made to any of the moves. Each film will include an all-new 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and a new Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. That's right, there unfortunately won't be any DTS tracks.

The fourth disc will include about four hours of special features, a lot of which will be all-new and produced by Spielberg's long time DVD producer Laurent Bouzereau. In addition to new interviews with Harrison Ford, Spielberg, and George Lucas disc four will also feature behind-the-scenes features on each of the films as well as a look at the real world history behind Indy legends.

  3. Sweet. Four hours of extras. Hopefully this set launches at a decent price.

  4. I saw this earlier and was ecstatic. Once Star Wars E4-6 come out, I can finally get rid of my VCR. I doubt it will be for a decent price though. I have a feeling we are going to get a Godfather treatment. The Godfather trilogy only comes in the trilogy pack with a full disk of extras for all 3 movies, just like Indy. Instead of being like $50-60 ($15-20 per DVD), it launched at like $90-100. You might be able to get it for $60-70 now. That said, it depends on your definition of a decent price. I'd pay more than $90 for Indy on DVD. I bought the Godfather trilogy and I'd much rather have Indy. Indy's weak link is only weak in comparison to the other movies. Temple of Doom is my least favorite but it is still a great flick. Godfather 3 is bad compared to anything.

  5. wow that kicks ass

took them long enough, anyways ya i hope for a decent price 50-60 dollars seems good

I mean i payed 40 for the family guy which is four discs, so i am sure these people can release this for 50

  6. I think there's more of a demand for the Jones trilogy then there was for The Family Guy set...they'll pump up the price as high as they can get away with.

  7. Indiana Jones is my favorite movie series, it's about time

  8. I paid 40 for the family guy and thought it was to much, especially with lack of extra's. However, having an entire extra disc of extra's, and if there's was director/actor commentary for each movie, I would easily pay around 90 dollars.

  9. saw this over a week ago...old news
