Sega Rally would make it into my top 3 racing game series of all time i think. and Rez is easily one of my favorite games of all time.
so yeah, i look forward to the teams games for that one staff member alone.
Well... yeah, there alot of experienced veterans, but I wouldn't give UGA credit for anything not done at AM11, for the same reason I won't give Treasure credit for Castlevania IV and Axelay (like all to many do).

  2. Isn't Space Channel 5... 2 (that sounds so stupid when you say it aloud) supposed to be released over here by Acclaim or something like that?

I would like to see what all the fuss is about, only because I thought the first one was an awful game, and many say part 2 is a vast improvement.

Agetec is bringing it over. The first was hardly awful, but it was repetitive and ultimately feels unfinished and dry. The second is amazing though. While the game play is more or less the same, it's just put together much better. The music, gameplay, and presentation just come together right. The whole game is just alot more dynamic, the world feels much more alive, and it's just generally an incredibly stylish peice of work. Like Rez, it's style oversubstance, but it's also incredibly fun and replayable for the same reasons as Rez.

You kinda need to see it and play it to see just what a night and day difference it is, though.

i just played SC5 for a few minutes, so i could see UGA pulling this off.
if part 2 is the first time they "got it right", then i'll check it out.

and what's the deal with the Dreamcast version? is there any reason why im better off buying that version? such as price or being a straight port?

Did they fix that little timing problem the first one had? And is the music the same? Those were the two main issues I had with the first: unresponsive controls, and ear splitting "music".

As well you shouldn't. ^^;;; As far as I can tell, the most any Treasure members got involved with the Castlevania series was work on the first two CV games for the Game Boy, and the extent of their members' work on Axelay was a single programmer doing "support program." There's no information that would lead me to believe that any Treasure employee ever worked on CV4. This is based on information found at SF Kosmo and The Castlevania Dungeon. If there's any solid information to the contrary, let me know. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure Treasure's supposed association with those games is about as reliable as their supposed association with Contra Hard Corps (which was made after they left Konami )

Yeah, that's a good way of putting it. It's what the first should have been.

Now that it's coming to the US, nothing. DC is more import freindly, but the ports are more or less identical. I'm told there are visible differences, but nothing tangibly better or worse. Unless they screw something up in the localization (seems unlikely) then just wait for the US version.

Hehe, I'm working on updating sfkosmo, my info's a little better. 1 programmer did indeed work on Super CV4, but he used a different name. At Konami he was "Yaipon", and at Treasure he's known as "Yaiman". And what you said about axelay was exactly my point. One common staffer hardly means the team should get credit.

  8. ok, sounds good. when does that come out?

    July, methinks.

Aha, I was wondering about that guy. I hate staff member aliases sometimes. -_-
