I am impressed that MS did not raise the rate for renewals. However, punishing late adopters doesn't seem real intelligent. To me, XBL wasn't worth $50. It is definitely not worth $70 now to get started. Making something a mass market success typically does not involve raising the price as the technology gets older...

Giving how much they're charging for the separate headsets, perhaps the headsets are of higher quality than the current ones? Or perhaps they are announcing this pricing to encourage fences-sitters to buy now rather than later?

I can appreciate the opinion that XBL isn't worth $50. And if it isn't worth $50 to someone, it definately won't be worth $70. As far as mass market success, MS is treating this as a service, not a technology. The same way subscriptions for magazines go up after the initial subscription period (around 6 months), and then come down again as the subscriber pool increases, I expect XBL to do the same. If sales at $70 decrease dramatically, they'll drop the price before Christmas.

100 bucks to start on live is DEFFINETLY not worth it

hopefully thats for replacement Headsets

where did you get $100 from? i cant imagine them charging $70 for a disc and a year sub. you get the headset with it. tho i cant imagine why someone would want multiple headsets unless you can have two peeps split screen on one system with one account chatting to others.
