Double Dragon 2 (Mega Drive)

I've been thinking about getting this. I've heard mixed things about the gameplay and arcade accuracy. I can get it for a decent price but I'm unsure. Has anyone here played it?

Being the resident Double Dragon/Kunio-kun/Technos expert here, let me tell you one thing: it sucks! While the game is much closer to the Arcade than the NES and PC Engine versions were, the graphics are downright horrible (and it's not even a first generation title), the audio looks like it's coming from a washing machine and the gameplay is just s-l-o-w. The whole game feels like a bad Game Gear title than something out of a Genesis. The Genesis versions of DD1 wasn't much better actually and DD3 is a bad port of an already mediocre Arcade game. It's a shame, since the Genesis is capable of doing better. I only recommend it if you're a completionist or a masochist.

I have a bootleg cartridge of MD DD2. I only played it once and it sucked.

It's worthless.

For one thing, the enemies tend to own you with cheap tactics. They will stand over you and anticipate you getting up. The speed of the game is very much off, and the graphics are generally grainy and washed out.

The BGM is faithful to the arcade, but sounds too tinny. Punches and kicks sound like a cat hissing.
