Doom 3 Hardware

Its been a while since I last posted (well, seriously posted).

Does anybody know what the current PC hardware specs are for playing the Doom 3 test? I heard it runs jerky and slow even on a 1GB athlon with a Gforce 3 (setting aside other specs of course; lets just say I have a good computer otherwise). I just don't want to download the giant Doom 3 test file if I can't even play it.

i believe the it was running on a 2.2 with a radeon 9700 pro at e3 last year...

The Doom 3 test is an unoptimized resource hog. id has been very insistant that the leaked test is not anything the public was supposed to get their hands on -- it looks and plays nothing like the final game.

now i have run it on a 750 mhz duron, 640 mb pc133, with a radeon 9000 pro 128mb, and got on ave about 15-20 fps... ...much better than i ever expected though...

All I know for sure is that you will need a graphics card that supports direct x 9.0

I'll be going with the Xbox version to prevent all the hassle with hardware specs.
