I haven't had to break out the paper and pencil in a long time- I think you just pinpointed what has been missing in videogames today.

Normally, I'd agree with that except Metroid II was supposed to be a portable game...
Maybe some people did have fun carrying around (handdrawn) maps (& pen) along with GB, but I sure didn't want to do that back then.

I'm just hoping this doesn't bog down super if they try bring that over. Some games (like super mario advance) don't show any loss in detail, but when I looked at phantasy star 2, I decided it's not worth the time if it doesn't look better then my copy on genesis.

I hated doing my own maps. Seemed like no matter where I started, I always would end up drawing the map off the page.

  6. They review this in the new GI. It gets a 9.5 and game of the month - and they say its the best remake game ever.

They dont reveal anything, but they say the majority of the new goodies come after Mother Brain, and that the new content there ties all the games together (including Metroid Prime). Very interesting.

    Instant purchase.

  7. Making your own maps for games was poopy.

That being said I don't think I ever beat the original (maybe I did...memory...hazy), so I'll be all over this.

  8. Making maps was for wimps. I memorized the original.

  9. Any reviews mention the difficulty level in this game? I'd hate to see the game become overly easy.

  10. I remember complaints over super being a little easy, I'm just hoping this isn't the case.

In fusion, any time I got hit, I'd lose whole life blocks and that's just from the weaker guys.
