I was fired from my job today. They called and told me my last day was Monday.. yesterday. Well, why? They won't say. Sounds terribly illegal but it seems I signed away my right to be prompted in the case I needed to be replaced. I'm not so much bothered that I am out of a job (though that bothers me considerably) as I am that I didn't really deserve to be fired and no reason has yet been given.

It would be terribly beneficial for all parties involved, I would think, to say, "Hey Matt, I think you could be doing a better job.." so on and then talk over how things could be improved. To my knowledge I was doing a dandy job when anything needed to be done, but if I had, I would have loved to have hear about it so the wrong-doing in question could be somehow circumvented.

Anyway. I am unemployed so to celebrate the occassion I bought a lotto ticket. When in Rome right?

That's horrible.

Here's hoping the lotto ticket hits, so you can have the last laugh at them. If you were doing something wrong, I'd think they should have warned you. It does sound like wrongful termination to me.

I was fired in January, but I don't believe in playing the lottery. I am still out of work, which is why I am here instead of cruising the streets of Hollywood right now. I am also on the brink of financial ruin, so you have something to look forward to if you don't get a job in four or five months.

I gotta get some freakin' ads up.

Keep your chin up. I'd say bright, resourceful people don't need to worry about finding a job, but . . .

the job market is hell right now. i am fortunate to have a job, even a relatively bad one, but there are no jobs out there any more. Somethingsgotta give, if things dont improve,i gottaswitch political sides,i feel like a leech at home,wether or not i do the cooking.

If it's an "at will" employer, they can get rid of you pretty much whenever they choose.
