wow. if this is true, i might actually get this over the cube version.
Nobody wants to play it in the arcade anyway.
Nobody plays anything in arcades anymore.
I can't believe you are 1337 enough to be upset that a bad ass game could be coming to Xbox Live.
I will never understand hardCORE.

Part of the fun is playing random assholes in the arcade; and playing random assholes on Live has 2 major flaws -- lag and cheating. You don't see these in the arcade. And I somehow doubt you'll invite random assholes into your house.Originally posted by Dragonmaster Dyne
why would online play make people not want to play in the arcade...yet having a friend over wont? you logic is absurd....and really....how many arcade cabs are in the US anyway. id say very few.
/me wins the award for "most misdirected use of word 'asshole' in post"![]()
well anything added cant be all that bad. if it has live i welcome it.
What's that my boss says? "You're a pessimist." I always reply, "No, I'm a realist." Hope for the best, expect the worst.you just gave everyone here blue balls....you know that dont you? you do have a point tho.![]()
I'd rather keep my hopes in check. I don't see Namco giving XB owners anything special that the PS2 doesn't get. Now, if MS handles the network code and Live component, I could see it happening.![]()

Hey jackass! Maybe we want the live game because we dont have good arcades where we live. Like me! I have yet to see SC2 anywhere around here.
Xbox Live- SamuraiMoogle
i have yet to see anything newer than tekken 2 around here![]()
cka, are you being anal for the hell of it? It's not like the arcade machines will vanish in a swirl of fallen leaves just because the home version is released with online play. Hell, when Marvel Vs Capcom2 came out on the DC down here, that increased the people playing it in the arcade.
I know that XBL is an asshole magnet, but some of them will still show up at the arcade to have their asses handed back by you.

Think of it it this way: if the game comes out in august, then by ... november I predict it'll be full of PAR-using morons who only play to up their stats with inf. life codes,
Something MS will have to address eventually with bannings, otherwise that will happen in every competitive online game.
Easily solved - all they have to do is offer no incentive to pull.pull before they lose,
I wish it was like the arcade, where only cool people are.and all the other nonsensical bullshit that accompanies CvS2 live.
I don't know if you've noticed, but the arcade experience sucks ass these days. Busted machines, one person strolls along to play every other hour or so, and there's a 90% chance they suck (say what you will about CvS2 Live, but people on there can play). Not to mention the fact that it's expensive, filled with punks, only available at certain hours of the day, not in your house, you have to listen to fucking annoying Dance-dance music while a 400 pound nerd is jumping up and down behind you in a hawaiian anime shirt, and your favourite game will probably vanish in a few months.I admit I'm not the biggest fan of SC, but I really don't wanna see it subjected to that. But since it's on Live, nobody will wanna play it where it's supposed to be played, in the arcade, thusly ruining the arcade experience.
There was a time I would have, but I will not now mourn the passing of arcades.
Oh yeah - I don't think this will have online play either - I'm guessing survival mode rankings and other lame stuff like that.

Which is why I don't really favour any online fighting game personally.Originally posted by StriderKyo

Both players can't win the same match. The mere fact that at least 1 person can lose is incentive enough, as is shown in the CvS2 puller listing -- dependant or not if the game tracks your W/L ratio on their database.Easily solved - all they have to do is offer no incentive to pull.
I already mourn the passing of arcades here. I had some of my fondest gaming memories in them. I became attracted to fighting games in the arcades, which is why I have such a severe distaste for them being online from the console release get-go. There's no accurate way that it (the experience) can be recreated over the Internet, but I'm sure everyone already knows that. The hoards of people crowded around the machines, the sounds of "shock and awe" when they see something done for the first time, people helping eachother and giving eachother pointers/strats/etc, meeting people who know the game as well, or even better than you do and learning from them, and all that other great shit that made arcades possibly the best places to play head-to-head games.I wish it was like the arcade, where only cool people are.

So now you see why I've been on my anal trip through this thread. And as far as it not having online play with Live -- that's gonna piss a whole lotta people off, but I hope that it's true. All the more reason to bug your local arcade to get a cabinet.![]()
