Lunar Eclipse

Tomarrow, at 9:12 eastern in Ohio, there is to be a lunar eclipse, I don't know the times for everyone, but it sounds like it will kick ass. Anyone actually going to go out and look at it? It lasts a couple of hours, and after about the first hour does it start being a total lunar eclipse. You know it is a lunar eclipse by the red shade the moon turns, resembling the red you see in the sunset, should be real beautiful.

The eclipse will occur in my area (New York City) around 11pm. I saw a lunar eclipse once and it looked great. It was past midnight and the moon was blood red and the sky was somewhat bluish. Its the only lunar eclipse I've ever seen. Hopefully clouds wont ruin it for me.

wait - what are the certain types of eclipeses that are supposedly "bad" to look at- i'm guessing this isn't one of them? I'll check it out then

A lunar eclipse is when the Earths shadow is so perfectly in front of the sun, that rays barely escape over the edge, and color the moon red like dawn. Like the ring that remains visible around the moon of the sun during a solar eclipse, it's like that except the Earth is the moon, and those at night can see the effects. It's really a beautiful thing, so no, this won't harm your eyes.

Yeah, I heard about it on the news this morning. Will try to watch it, if the weather clears up, since we have clouds and rain all day today, and they also promise fog tonight.

its 9:07 right now in florida...Cnn says it should be bloody red and good around 11:03-11:40...ill be waiting

The one mutha fukkin time it isn't snowing where I live, it's raining all damn night. I really wanted to see it too.

I had no luck here either, absolutely no break in the clouds, the only thing I got was a red tint against the storm clouds in the sky. For justice's sake, I'll attach an image of a lunar eclipse, everyonce in a while you'll get a partial eclipse that won't be as big as a total, but you'll still see it.
