Thread: E3: River City Ransom and Double Dragon Advance

  1. E3: River City Ransom and Double Dragon Advance

We visited with Atlus USA today in hopes of getting a sneak preview of their newly announced Double Dragon Advance and River City Ransom games for the Gameboy Advance, but they were strangely absent from the show. We spoke with a representative from Atlas who confirmed that they wouldn't be shown, at least not yet, nor is a release date available. Dissappointing, but he did seem to have hope that some sort of media from the games might be released before too long, perhaps even before the close of E3 2003...

We can only hope, or maybe capture his girlfriend and force him to release something.

More on these games as it becomes available.

  2. that sucks. I assumed that since they were announced when they were that they would have something to show at E3. Ah well.

  3. One thing to mention about River City though:

There's supposed to be some connectivity between two GBAs that will allow a single player to do...something. Instead of using a second GBA so a friend can join, Atlus said something along the lines of a second GBA helping you 'keep track of NPCs within the game'

All I can think is...what? Sounds like a different take on connectivity.

  4. Meh! Just knowing that they're coming is good enough for me.

I'm thinking this might be just like Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki (or Technos Samurai if you prefer, whatever) in which defeated bosses and new allies will join your party as you get further into the game. I'm hoping this is the case. Godai/Tex is teh kewlest!

Oh yeah. Here's some character sprites from the remake to hold us over for now.
