How do you do an accurate study on illegal immigrants? Like, do you go door to door and ask "true or false - you are an illegal immigrant"? And then get an accountant to go through their finances? Somehow it doesn't add up that they send all their minimum wage money to the country where everything costs less.

I never put that millions of Middle Eastern Terrorits where in our country. I meant some of the illegals who come across our Southern border are from the Middle East. It is a very small percentage overall, but not insignificant.

In the long run, increasing security would save money. We have the military troops, why not position them on our own border...? It wouldn't cost much, they are already getting paid. They could greatly reduce, not eliminate illegal immigration, thus relieving the economic burden illegals put on our system.

I do not know how the Harvard Economist conducted his study. Obviously he used estimates and didn't go door to door.
The American dollar can buy you alot more in Mexico than it can here.
That is why they send most of their money back to Mexico, apparently you can't grasp this simple concept, i'm not surprised.

I fail to see what is "funny" in this. Just because I think we should crack down on illegal immigration does not mean I want any illegals killed. I'm all for humane treatment of them, and sympathize with their plight. I don't blame them for wanting to come over to the U.S. for a better life, I blame our Government for failing to take action.

Either you can't read or you're ignoring my other post. The part about killing them was more a joke than anything else. But the point still stands that your post was far more concerned about the economy and how all those border-jumpers are dealing deathblows to it. The fact that 18-some-odd people just got steamed like a bunch of tamales was just an introductory hook to a long tirade on closing the borders. You may not want these "illegals" killed, but it's obvious that you aren't too upset that some died.

I'm all for humane treatment of them, and sympathize with their plight. I don't blame them for wanting to come over to the U.S. for a better life, I blame our Government for failing to take action.

This is actually an uncommon case because of the quantity of casualties.the most fatalities at one time, I believe I read in the last 15-20 years. You are right though that on occassion a few would be illegals will die of heat exhaustion while trying to cross the desert.

Evidently you have no concept of lexical denotation vs. connotation. I don't find the term "illegals", "inherently disrespectful". Last I checked it is against Federal law to enter the U.S.A ILLEGALLY. How can calling them Illegals be disrespectful. Should I refer to them as law breakers, aliens, criminals...? What term do you and the politcally correct police prefer...?
