Thread: Tony Hawk 3

    Tony Hawk 3

I just watched my roommate Dave pull off a 16,000,000+ point trick in Tony Hawk 3 in the Airport level.

    Nuts...

Anyway, what are your biggest trick combo scores?

  2. The airport level was the first place level that I found where I could find multiple lines that I could run for the full two minutes.

The little baggage claim area is like infinite combo city.

  3. I actually liked 3 more than 4... is that wrong?

    No.

    I like 2 more than 3.

No, it's not. I liked 3 more than 4 as well.

  6. I think overall 4 was a better game...but by the time 4 had come out I'd played so much THPS that I was kinda burnt out on the series.

So yea, I had more fun with 3, but 4 was the better game.

  7. I was a total crack fiend when it came to thps2, that game stole some of my soul. I loved it, and played it nonstop for months.

Then came thps3 and I got a little burned out of it all, but I still played through it, just not at the same level of commitment, so my high scores are really low compared to some of the crazy ones out there.

THPS4 is whole differnt game compared to 3, the aggressive inline influence really helped push it foward and keep it fresh.

  8. I played this game hardcore when it came out (sold it now though). I was able to get 50,00,000 on Rio and Los Angelos. The key is to find a big loop around the level, and to cram as many grinds and air tricks into it. You need to get a huge amount of base points, and then a high multiplyer. For example, the start of Los angelos I would get really high and do 3 (or was it 4?) special air tricks before I landed. People over at Gamefaqs figured out which tricks would give you the most points, but could be done the fastest.

Over at GameFaQs there were some other people who went for high scores and were real good. One guy (forget his name) made a video of himself doing a 89,000,000 run on the Airport. There were a couple videos of 60,000,000 Los Angelos runs and such. It ends up of just being a game of how long can you hold out (since just a slight tap will make your bar go out of whack).

What usually happens is after the 3rd or 4th run around the entire level, people just start to manual and do hop tricks on the ground to get the multiplyer higher.

I still might be able to that guys site, I'll look for it.

When the game was first released their was a glitch with the casper flips. The glitch was that you could do them hella fast, and get your multiplyer up really easily. But most people frowned upon it so no one uses it for real high scores. The glitch was fixed though.

edit: The Max multiplyer was 255 I think, and in the Airport run the kid did get to 255 I think..so it was just a matter of trying to get the base points even higher. When I usta play, my multiplyer would get to about 200+.

nope. 3 is the best in the series. THUG should take the title though, i just don't see why it should't.

i start playing the series at 2, and was playing that a few hours a day for a month or 2. 3 nailed it. 4 was good, and imrpoved gameplay in every way, but was lacking innovation. great game though, but i didn't have as much with it as i did with 3.

  10. There's a part on the airport level where a plane's wing comes close to one of the windows. A friend of mine caused a bug and somehow got outside in vs. mode while doing a manual. There was nowhere for him to go, so the game just kept spinning him around in a circle, bouncing him around an invisible box on two wheels. His score had hit something like 50 million before we just reset it.
