Finest Final Fantasy?

Oh, I didn't know we could choose Tactics. That game is easily better than any other Final Fantasy game.

X. I enjoyed it, apart from the minigames. For the first time since the beginning of the PSX incarnations, everything fell into place for me.

VI is still a very strong second though, so give me a few months and it may be back at the top.

FF7 may be overrated, but that's only because it's the FF that got played by the most people. Many people who played FF7 never played any other FF, so they really have no frame of reference. The fact that they liked the game at all still says something, though. But as someone who has played both 7 and 6, I can honestly say that 7 is a better game. Six is merely an average RPG. Like I said before:

Final Fantasy 6 is the most over- rated RPG of all time, in my opinion. The main draw of the game was it's cinemas, you know Celes opera scene and Gaus back story and all. Those might have been rad back in the day, but now they all look like shit.

The story telling technique is awful, it ruined Squares chance to actually develop those characters. Sabin and his brother were the only decent characters in the game.

Oh yeah, and the music is over-rated, the dialogue is robotic, and the world of ruin is a joke.

Still it's a decent game.... but 4 and 5 are infinitely superior in quality. And so are 7 and 9.

Nostalgia = me playing both of them in the last two years and still choosing 6?

Nostalgia = me liking FF8 more than FF7, and then liking FFX more than 7,8,9 (and almost 6, haven't quite decided)?

For the most part I have my nostalgia very much in check thank you.
