persona 2 didn't do that great but it was overpriced, had poor marketing and a bad cover, and came out pretty late. SMT3 on the other hand is really gorgeous and i think the press would get more behind it. but i don't know for sure -- i know GMR is pretty behind it, i'm behind it, others would promote it. that means something.

it's up to atlus to make a success of their games, ultimately. i don't see how they really have a choice to put out the games here or not, or what they gain by ignoring them, considering that it's the bread and butter of the japaense branch and that's the ostensible point of having a US office, right?

i don't understand the disgaea thing. =) i imagine they have a good relationship with the japanese creators. i have to say, what i understand of atlus' business is really weird.

Disgaea is one of my most anticipated games. The avatar dedication may have tipped people off to that though. I really love strategy games and I think the graphics, art-style, and general kitschyness of the game are really appealing.

The good news is that Atlus is including the Japanese music and Japanese voice acting in the game as well. There will be an option to choose between either.. so, for me, it's a no brainer. I'll go Japanese.

I got to play this at Atlus's booth (the small room upstairs) and I liked it a lot, the battle system was great and so where the characters IMO... sure it won't win any awards for graphics but this certainly isn't for eye candy freaks, strategy game fans should keep an eye out for this game, I know I will

I love the premise of the game, and Strat games do me good...I just hope it isn't another Hoshigami.

I like what the demo showed. The music is a bit off for the title. I'm hoping that is more for the video, then the game itself.
