Thread: Bruce Almighty

  1. It's a good film but defintley not a great comedy with the funniest part being when Carrey got the anchor to speak in tounges.

He doesn't. Jim Carrey is a good actor by himself, when not doing comedy.

Just so happens that he is great at comedy, as well, so this movie was funny. I just got finished watching it and I laughed almost all of the way through. The funniest part for me was:

Bruce running with a pitcher full of milk and splashing those kids and when he played the 'jazz' on his hand in the conference room. Good stuff.

The movies premise is simple enough, there is great writing and good special effects you don't even notice because they're done so well. Good movie, great for laughs.

Except it's riffled with swear words, and the big guns at that as well.

  3. Ok, well I think I will catch this one tomorrow... I don't have much to do tomorrow, and for some reason today I have heard a lot of positive reviews off the board and a couple of them on.
So here's hoping that it won't be disappointing...
I like my women like I like my coffee. Covered in bees!

  4. It's funny. That's all that matters in a movie like this.

  5. Caught this one yesterday, I thought it was pretty funny but could have been funnier. The woman news anchor (her name escapes me right now but I think is she from that show JAG) was pretty damn hot!!

  6. Did anyone catch the couple scenes that you could see a microphone above the actor's heads? I've been noticing it a lot lately in movies, though I can't think of any recent movies where I noticed them.
"I don't like fellas that kill me. Not in general."

  7. Were they in the studio environment such as the TV studio, in which case they'd probably be there on purpose. With all the CG in films now, even if the boom WAS in a scene, it wouldn't matter.

    They'd simply take it out.

  8. I liked this one alot more than I thought I was going to. I really liked the story and the cast and Carrey was great. I love Jennifer Anderson, some one needs to give her the shot she deserves, she's stuck being type cast in all the movies she does. She just needs to dump that shit show Friends.

I think the movie got most of it's money from the east coast, the weather has been so shitty that people came to the movies in droves.
