Who do you actually respect around here?

I respect just about anyone here that has the same mutual respect for me as well as themselves. For no particular reason, this is determined by their character, wit, contributions to the community. And even though a small fraction of our members are considered trolls/vegetables, without them, we wouldn't have the opportunity of being able to reflect on who makes interacting with one another worthwhile...

I'm not sure what respect really can derive from on a message board, not to put down the concept behind it - but its never really been something I have considered. I think I look at more of the person and their character rather than the quality of their posts. I do however have a list of people who immediately come to mind as people I like when I think of TNL.

Cynical Sphere - A metal thread regular and there's always something interesting to hear coming from him - even when not on the topic of metal.
First Blood - Opeth fan! And cool person
YouandWhoseArmy - Fellow Bono fan and all around odd ball.
Stone - Man of Lesiure
Lhadatt - Talk to him often, cool guy.
Rick - I've never met a Rick before
Arjue - Down unda!

These threads are always a pain. You try to list everyone you consider to be quite alright and end up forgetting some in the end.

88mph - If anyone must be smacked down online, this is the man to do it. And his paintings are cool, too.

Brisco - His name reminds me of Crisco, which reminds me of shortening, which reminds me of fatty food, which reminds me of Canada, which in the end, is where he lives.

Chux - Anyone who has Earthbound paraphernalia in their av/sig is alright with me.

Despair - Yeah.

Dolemite - He has more women under his control than the pimps of Los Angeles combined.

Hero - He draws good. I don't. I shall consider him worthy of respect.

Lhadatt - He is from Texas and threatens me when I don't talk to him on AIM. He is a bossy fellow.

Stone - Ivy Leaguer, man of Leisure and a fine poster. Respect the man.

Box_Drink - his posts go over my head a lot, but he's a brilliant guy - that much I can see.

Rich - He doesn't post that much, but when he does you know it's going to be something worthwhile and interesting.

Shakey - He's the kind of guy that doesn't go out of his way to get attention - some people will make a bunch of rude comments, or register a dupe account so they can imitate a girl, or whatever - Shakey doesn't do that.

Thief Silver - He always speaks his mind, and doesn't let other people's opinions influence his.
