Thread: Hudson remakes!

  1. Speaking of Lode Runner, avoid the N64's Lode Runner 3D like the plague. I'd heard it was decent, but it sucks!

    P.S. - Master Higgens 4-Evah.

P.P.S. - I have a complete copy of Lode Runner 3D for sale! IM me!

  2. Konami will release Hudson's Famicom Collection Vol. 1 Cubic Lode Runner for GameCube in Japan on July 10, for 3000 yen. The game is a remake of the classic 8-bit Famicom / NES action game Lode Runner. The remake version features 3D and 2D graphics, 60 stages and an Edit Mode for creating custom stages. The BGMs are also rearranged.
Now this is interesting. I never did like the NES version of LR, but I love the '95 remake.

P.P.S. - I have a complete copy of Lode Runner 3D for sale! IM me!
    How does $0.25 sound?

  3. For all the hours spent at the arcade playing it, I'd love to see an Adventure Island remake featuring Master Higgins.
Speaking as a person who missed out on the SMS and Genesis, were the Adventure Island games very similar to the Wonder Boy games?

Adventure Island 1 is pretty much the same as Wonder Boy 1, just much uglier to look at. The rest of the Adventure Island games continue the platform style of Wonder Boy 1/Adventure Island 1 but they have nothing to do with the other SMS/Genesis games which are Action/RPGs.

Have you played New Adventure Island on TurboGrafx? That's the best Adventure Island game.

I'd be more jazzed about it if it was a remake of Super Star Soldier or one of the other PCE titles.
Given the 3000 yen price tag I'm thinking straight remake too. If they went Zanac Neo on the Star Soldier games I'd be in heaven. *-neo

  6. They are updating the graphics and music. I think if they change much more it will cease to be a remake.

I got to try that one. One thing's for sure, the music is gonna have a hard time beating Super Adventure Island's soundtrack.

  8. Super Adventure Island for the SNES is really fantastic, I never played SIA2 though, it looks kinda weird. I also prefer Master Higgins over Wonder Boy, for one, Master Higgins wears a hat.

I would really like to see some screens of the games to see how far they went with the over haul. I have a feeling that Star Soldier won't be near Ikaruga graphicaly, but it better look pretty damn nice.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  9. Wonderboy's name was Shion from what I remember. And yes, Wonderboy 3/ Monster World 2 really is one of the best games of all time.

  10. oh, look what i found:
