The name was different depending on the game. Shion starred in Wonder Boy in Monster World.

Actually it's Tom. Shion was another character that lived ages after Tom, he was the star of Wonderboy in Monster World/Monster World 3.

Super Adventure Island II is more along the lines of the Dragon's Curse/Monster World III/MWIV, except you play as Master Higgins.

You start off in a small overworld (complete with random encounters), and travel around on your raft to the various islands, which play like the above-mentioned games. I played most of the way through it, and I thought it was quite fun.

A Star Soldier 3D update could still be good, as long as it plays the same, but PC Kid/Bonk? That's going to be odd.

Dragon's Trap takes place immediately after WBiML. Even though he looks different, they have the same hero. They actually overlap. The last battle of WBiML is the first battle of WB3T. If you look at his character art from WB3 instead of his in-game sprite this is more obvious:


See? He was supposed to have blonde hair but for some reason they went with green in-game.
