That has nothing to do with it. CGI has been around as long as cel animation had been when Snow White was made. Hell I still think Skeleton Dance is amazing and that was one of the first animated films ever.Originally posted by Jeremy
That's true. Right now, CG animation is still in it's relative infancy when compared to hand-drawn animation, which was been around much longer. CG has quite a bit of catching up to do, but it will eventually reach a level near hand-drawn stuff.

Regardless. Rendered animation came to be in the mid-late 80s. Pixar's first rendered cartoon was released in 1986. It's like 16 years old. Snow White came out in 1937, just 9 years after Disney's first animated short (which was one of the first of its kind).Originally posted by Jeremy

I see what you're saying. I'm just saying that, in time, rendered stuff should be at least close to where hand-drawn stuff is now. Quite a few variables will determine that time, like how much progress is made with each rendered piece.
