Last I was on there, I couldn't download anything, only listen to it.
I got alot of stuff from there in the past and I want to get more! Lemme know what to do! Thanx

  2. If RE's pre-rendered BGs are the only reason it controls like shit, then why the fuck does Code Veronica, which did NOT use rendered BGs, also suffer from problematic control?

  3. So, bashes against the game like this doesn't bother anyone else?

"These graphics once set the gaming world ablaze. Now, not so much."

Can I be the first to say, "No, shit?" First, it's a hand held game port, and even original hand held games could never set my world ablaze graphically, I think they all look like shit in comparison to Orta. Their quotes and thoughts are so totally off base through out.

Sonic is a fucking joke. Most of the game plays itself. Weee look at him go wound and wound the loops and pipes. I needed mad skillz to do that. Take away the grafix and pipes nobody would care.
The only game that's ever been remotely true of is Sonic Advance 2. You just don't know how to play Sonic or haven't tried. I'm sick of all these old SNES owners that played a level of Sonic at theToys R Us kiosk and want to talk shit like the know something.

  5. Frog, with all the Sonic compilations that have been released, I'm sure folks have played more than just a level or two of any of the original Sonic games.

Old-school Genesis vs. SNES diss +1. Excellent!

I don't think Sonic Advance is just 'run right and jump every now and then.' It's got some good branching levels that it takes some skill to reach and it's got some of the high flying stuff from Sonic 1, too. Plus it's very fast. Great game!

  7. I bet I've played more Sonic than Frog has DKC.

Sonic 1 was the first console game I owned and I played it quite a bit in the day when I was a lad. I used to think the speed and the loops were awesome but when I got older I could see they were a gimmik and there's very little gameplay in them there greenhills. Its just like when you find out Father Christmas isn't real.

Doubtful. I have played my share of DCK. I actually played the Gameboy ones a good deal for lack of anything better to play on the Gameboy at the time. Played the first 2 SNES ones through also, though never replayed. I just found them mediocre. Bear in mind I played alot of Bubsy back in the day too. I was more able to play games I didn't like out of sheer boredom back then than now.

Not true. There's more technique to playing Sonic well than any other hop and bop platformer. Granted, it isn't the deepest genre, but still. Relatively speaking, there's ALOT of timing and experimentation involved with getting a good time. It's not a difficult game, it's true, but that doesn't mean it lacks substance. There was alot to playing Sonic. The roll was a very innovative addition to the genre.

  10. sonic 1 was one of those games that if played right, will put you in the zone. some people can't handle the maddening flow of the zone. they rather stick to their deliberate running and jumping, where they have complete control over the character. however, with sonic 1, once you reach the zone, you no longer have control over your character, you have control over the entire game. sonic 2 pushed the zone even further with super sonic.
