Actually Half-Life received an upgrade graphically compared to it's PC counterpart. The characters have more polys and whatnot.

Half-Life and Deus Ex were both upped graphically for their PS2 versions but they are still downgrades based on control and frame rate. They are inferior to the PC originals.

I must agree, with HL2, Doom 3, and Halo 2 on the way, Sega's wasting their time. They're likely out of their element, as well. I think you gotta kinda be into a genre to do well at it.

It's just like fighting games. Japanese developers handle FPS games about as well as Americans handle fighters. Just look at Maken X (no matter what ECM told you, that game was pure shit). Sega has no chance here.

I love Sega to death. That said, they can't/won't make a good FPS if their lives depended on it.

They don't need to make a GT killer sicne just about every racing game they made is better. NFL2k is better than Madden in quite a few ways, but I think Madden is better as well. Sega kills EA in Hockey, baseball, Basketball, just about every other sports game though.

They only took one crack at it with outrigger. Let's just see what they do. Maybe they bought out some really talented upstart american developer to do it.
