Namco was pleased to announce that its upcoming 3D weapon-slashing sensation Soul Calibur 2 earned the coveted "Best Fighting Game" of the year.
The upcoming sequel, scheduled for release on all three next-generation platforms will introduce improved gameplay, dynamic graphics and a variety of new game modes. In addition, each console will include an exclusive guest character: Link, Spawn, and Heihachi for the GameCube, Xbox, and PlayStation2 respectively. All three versions will also include Necrid, a new character designed specifically for the Soul Calibur 2 universe.
"We are thrilled with the recent recognition from the Game Critics Awards,” said Stacey Hirata, Director of Marketing for Namco Hometek Inc. “The fighting genre has a lot of tough competition and we are extremely honored to receive this award."
