Thread: Don't you just love boss battles where...

  1. I love a good one-on-one battle with a boss. None of his (or her)lackies or anyone else trying to attack you. In an RPG I like a good strong boss to fight, makes me think up some kind of strategy, even though I may go through several...

There are only two parts I consistently have problems with - the Nails of Lukifell (section 5, with the small platforms and bazooka-firing grunts), and the final boss. I've only managed to beat the game twice in the 14 years I've owned it. Both times, it was because I continued and fought my way back to the boss, armed with the Fire Toss. You don't have to fight the last two bosses if you beat one (or both), lose against the next, and continue.

It's *extremely* difficult to one-credit this game, since by the time you get to the Demon Statue, you have no Ninja Art or any Spiritual Strength to use it (they're taken away after each boss fight). I've never done it, and I'm not sure if I actually could do it.

The last two stages aren't that hard once you figure out a few tricks. If I had a PC gamepad, I'd record a replay file for Stage 6 for you to watch, but there's no way I could do it with the keyboard.
What if I told you I have a gameplay movie I recorded with rocknes of me beating the game withoug dying? It can be done, you just have to play carefully.

I hate when they throw every boss at you without giving you any life in between them. The Adventures of Batman and Robin on Snes is guilty of this.

I got such a rush from that fight, but damn did it feel good when I beat him.
Same here... I don't think I have ever had a more rewarding boss battle. Finishing off Hiroko was an *accomplishment*.

    What a rush.

  4. I got his life bar down pretty far one time after countless failed attempts (I almost thought the fight was impossible at one point) and then my hands started shaking like I was having a seisure or something because I thought I was actually gonna beat him and I was pretty damn excited about it, but then I got stuck behind a pole and he just totally tore me a new one.

My pillow received such a thrashing after that. But it made it all the more better when I actually did beat him.

Beating Emerald and Ruby Weapon felt pretty good too, but they weren't even that hard.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  5. You just need the right combination of materia to beat the wepons easily. I did die to them a lot before I figured out some cheap combinations though.
