It is a pretty cheap dvd now, and should be in the collection of every action fan
Reminds me to finish up my Arnold's collection too.

Yeah, I picked up a copy of the DVD at Best Buy for $9.99. Well worth every penny. No extras other than the trailer, however.Originally posted by FuryFox
Hmm...I saw Commando once a long time ago...can't remember it too well. But from how you guys describe it, I should definitely check it out again...sounds like a goofy, but cool movie. I bet it's a cheap DVD now, huh, like 9.99 or something?
Actually, I noticed that BB has the Special Edition DVD of Total Recall for $9.99 also. I'll have to run down there during lunch and pick it up...I used to own it, but it was that annoying "limited edition" version that came in the stupid Mars-shaped metal container. I sold it off when I heard that were releasing a version that comes in the standard DVD case.
As for Conan, have any or you listened to the commentary track on the Conan the Barbarian special edition DVD (with Arnold and writer/director John Milius)? Arnold makes an ass out of himself, it's so damn funny. Among some of the great lines he spouts out:
In the beginning of the track, Arnold introduces himself as John and John introduces himself as Arnold- then Arnold says: "Ahnd if you believe zat, you'll alzo believe zat dere are little Richard Simmions Juniors running arouhnd! BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!"
Making fun of the boy playing young Conan in the beginning of the movie, who happens to have very red lips: "What, iz da kid wearing lizpstick?"
Displaying his bloodlust in scene where they show Conan chopping into a foe's head with a battleaxe while he was a galdiator: "Zis iz great, wit da axe...hah hah!"
The track is a must-listen.
In contrast, the Total Recall commentary track (Arnold and Paul Verhooven) is a tad dry compared to the Conan one. They mostly just talk and give information, there's really no joking around.![]()
Dolemite, the Bad-Ass King of all Pimps and Hustlers
Gymkata: I mean look at da lil playah woblin his way into our hearts in the sig awwwwwww
Damn, Thats sound really funny D. I need to get that dvd anyway, so it gives me more motivation to do it sooner![]()
"If it bleeds, than we can kill it"
Man, what a classic. Did anyone ever see the Commando action figures in the 80's? There was a large (maybe 13") Matrix figure, and then there was a line of smaller 4" figures. The bad guys were like Mad Max rejects. Guys with mohawks, and a dude with a hockey mask. Those toys were rad.
As an aside, there was talk many years ago that Fabio was going to be Conan in Conan The KIng. Can you imagine that shit? The fucking box to Ironsword in feature length film form!
I think one of the funniest parts of the whole movie is at the very beginning when he is carrying the log. its playing this intense music, showing Arnolds ripped biceps and stuff. Then his daughter jumps out and scares him and it becomes happy family time with random scenes of the two of them playing in the pool...and best of all...FEEDING A BABY DEER by hand out in the wilderness. That scene becomes even funnier after repeat viewings because its so out of place with the violence in the movie.
I Love this movie though, especially the acting of the guy that gets shot on the top of the building and then falls off during the raid on the base at the end. I'll always remember seeing this movie when I was something like 7 years old at the drive in with my Mom and Bro.

I personally like his True Lies line. The dude is hanging from the missle and he looks at the chopper between the building wreckage and says:Originally posted by Sqoon
One of the best lines ever:
"Don't distrub my friend. He's dead tired."

You're fired.
He gets shot off in to the heli and its awesome.
Commando I haven't seen in a long time but I remember some hot black chick and it being over the top. I might buy the DVD if its cheap.
Will, Most places have it for under $10 so get it.
I need to start working on rebuilding my Arnold collection on dvd, plus most of his film are pretty cheap to get.
WTF! There was a thread on Commando and I didn't see it until now!
By far Arnold's best movie and one of my all-time favorites. Arnold has never been slicker with infite 1-liners that are ALL good. Excellent soundtrack by James Horner, Wez from The Road Warrior as the main villain Bennett, that guy from the Warriors getting dropped off a clif fin one of the best movie scenes ever, over the top sound effects, and the a total of 80 something people are killed in the finale alone! Bennett getting thrown into the electrified gate and seemingly being energized from it(He takes the upper hand in the fight immediately after he gets off the gate) is classic. This movie is endlessly quoteable and I'd go as far as sayign that it's replay value is infinite(I've been watching it sicne it was new and still do today). If you dislike this movie, you fucking suck, period. Your just not allowed to have a negative opinion when it comes to Commando.
Matrix:Remember when I promised to kill you last Sully?
Sully: Thats right Matrix, you did!
Matrix: I lied!
Sully: Uhhh uhhh ahhh!
Cindy: What did you do with Sully?
Matrix: I let him go.

Also, did you know that there was a script made for the sequel but once Arnold turned it down that script was later re-written and became Die Hard.
