Been playing this at the arcade for the past week or so during my lunch hour at work. Finally broke a million yesterday, but I haven't got this stuff written down, so I can't post a score up here. So anyway, I'd like to know a little more about charge shots. Specifically, is there any disadvantage to using repeated charge shots aside from the color change? Will they get weaker? Is there any other reason I shouldn't kill as many enemies as possible with the charge so as to get more items?

No real penalty save for the time it takes to charge it. especially if you want to charge it to 9 to get the rarer items. I mostly just use it at boss battles.

Broke 1.6 million this weekend. Now that I've got the charge system figured out I keep getting myself killed from looking too hard at the meter or scrambling around for items when I shouldn't be, OR dragging out a boss fight because I want to get the special item. I would have liked to see the charge shot number somewhere less hidden away. If anything, I feel that the bomb and charge meters ought to be swapped around, meaning that the charge meter would be the big one and the bomb meter would be the small one.

Well, I got something like 1.9 million yesterday trying for items, don't have the exact score, but I just played today, and got 1,606,700 with Solo-bang, dying on level 4.

Great game. How quickly do you have to enter the code? I haven't had it work yet. Up, up, left, down, down, right, A, B, A, B, start? Even when I think I've done the directions quickly, a still selects Solo.

2,417,450, Solo-Bang, 59 items. I need to start completing sets earlier, I think. This is the least "cheap" shooter I've ever played - every time I die, I feel like it's because I fucked up, not because the game put me in an unfair situation.
