Thread: Unlimited Saga

  1. Don't say you weren't warned.

  2. The new Penny Arcade is exactly like this thread, lol.

  3. buy 5 copies of top shop instead.

  4. Remember the SNES days, when tons of cool Square games were left in Japan? That sucked.

Remember when Square started releasing all their games outside of Japan, but stopped making them consistently good? that sucked too.

It's sad I must agree with you here

I'm not passing judgement on UNLIMITED SaGa yet, or however it's SUPPOSED to be typed out but I wasn't really looking forward to it after being disappointed by the two SaGa Frontiers on PSX. Besides, I still have WAY too much to catch-up on PS2-wise when I get around to buying another one (when the new progressive-scan models make their way to retail). So I'll hold off for now...something tells me it'll be down to $29.99 or even less within a few months anyway.
    omg TNL epics!

  6. A'right... It's been a little while, so i'll dig it back up. (don't expect much)

So, has anyone else found UNLIMITED Saga to be worth paying money for? Come on, there has to be someone else on these boards that's at least given a few bucks to take it off of some kid's hand.
After a little more play (12 hours) I'm still happy and like Tail Concerto, Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon, Threads of Fate, the SaGa Frontier games, Giga Wing 2, Um Jammer Lammy, and probably a few other games that reviewers and most other people didn't care for at all, i'm sure there's an audience out there. =_= See: Gamefaqs (but it's a little much for me)

Remember when Square stuck to a straight formula and produced a few great games, but in a span of a couple of years? Yeah, that was nice.
It's also nice to see a company experiment a little, even if it does mean that they sometimes don't please a whole lot of people.

  7. I've been playing it for a little bit and it's just... meh so far, the direction seemed pretty cool but the execution is sorely lacking

The battle system is overly complicated for it's own good and the skills seem more like a chore then actually accomplishing anything... it reminds me of those old rpg type games where you move from space to space just to use an action to search the area for anything and using skills but this time a lot of needed luck thrown in too.

The music is good, the character art is good, even the board type play isn't all that bad... but just something isn't right with this game, it seems more like work then fun and way too confusing at first... hardcore should be more like hardplay.

I'm really trying to like it and will play some more but so far I can't really say I'm enjoying it... and that's really a shame because this game should've been much better
