Thread: Holy crap! Treasure developed Wario World??

I personally don't think Stretch Panic is the greatest game ever made, but it is better than 40% of the Xbox's game library at this time.

I never beat the last boss in Stretch Panic... I have to try again.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

    LMFAO.

These days loving Treasure isn't cool. Hating Treasure isn't cool. Being the person in the thread moaning about people who love or hate Treasure certainly isn't cool.

The only way to be cool is to not talk about Treasure at all. Ever.

Now it's cool to dismiss Treasure's games as "nothing special"? lol. If I ever get as crotchety and desperate for attention (internet messageboard attention no less) as some of you I hope somebody puts me out of my misery.

These threads are informative though. Now I know whos future posts to simply skip over seeing as how they've proven a complete lack of credibility.
TNL is just like any other board. Except generally better.

I mean, you'll find the same trend at Gaming Age, GameFAQs, IGN and Gamespot boards.

Except the people on those sites are generally clueless.

At least our morons, on the whole, have some sense of taste.

Filter out the stupidity. Put some people on ignore. You'll start to like the place.

I was going to write something along these lines. Since you put it so perfectly I'll just quote ya.
Obviously Gutsman doesn't spend every waking moment on the internet hording and disecting information on videogames. Perhaps he does other things with his time. So he comes to TNL to express how thrilled he is that Wario is being developed by one of his favorite developers and he wants to know how everyone else feels about this.

The first five or six guys flame him for being an incompetent gamer who needs to catch up with the industry. Being abused for sharing his thoughts on a game.

Its amazing this site gets any newbies at all anymore.

If I heard a new 3D fighter was coming, then I would probably be more excited about it if it was from a company with the pedigree of Sega or Namco than if it was from Acclaim or Eidos (for istance). I can make that assumption sight-unseen. Perhaps I like the way Namco makes 3D fighters, so even if I wasn't interested in some random title before, knowing Namco made it may cause me to investigate.

Gutsman's case, he likes the type of games Treasure makes, so he becomes more interested in a particular game, now knowing Treasure makes it, since he expects it to retain some of what he likes in their other titles.

    Pretty simple, guys.
Hey, where'd the wind go? These sails are windless.

Why do you want to be cool at all?

That's not to say to not talk about Treasure to be cool, but why do you care? There are people here who are generally not idiots, and like to talk about things they like with others who share a common interest. It's about conversing and expressing, not some popularity contest bullshit that some may have you think.

He could have at least used the search tool.

That's what this is all about, really. Well, that and the odd propensity for TNL users to launch into either hysterics or flaming fanboyism at the slightest mention of a certain hit-or-miss developer.

Sorry, maybe I shouldn't have worded the topic in such a n00bish way, but I was just surprised to find out that Wario World was developed by Treasure. I actually was already interested in Wario World to begin with, but I just totally didn't expect it to be developed by a company like Treasure. I mean even though Treasure isn't the best developer in the world they do have a unique style to all their games. I'm just eager to see how Treasure will add their own flavor and style to a platformer like Wario.
In retyrospect it is thje obvious choice. R&D1 isn't equipped to make a console game on their own anymore, and EAD is swamped with bigger projects and jobbing out franchises (aside from which EAD should not be allowed within 100 yards of the Wario franchise), and R&D1 has past history with Treasure, and Treasure has some past history with quirky underappreciated platformers (much like the Wario series). So it makes sense even if I didn't see it coming.

  9. I don't understand why everyone is upset Gutsman wants to play the game because Treasure made it. When a new Pearl Jam record comes out I haven't heard yet, I go out and buy it, because it's Pearl Jam. If you beleive that a company/band/friend has a good track record, than what's wrong with trusting them?
