This game is actually selling pretty well, not bad for such a generic-looking RPG.
Something I didn't mention: If you really want to avoid enemies inside dungeons you get an item early on that lets you shoot map monsters, which stuns them and lets you easily run by. It does have a fairly precise hit box so you really need to be lined up properly, but at least it's there for those times when you just need to get the hell away.Originally Posted by shidoshi

AND the escape option is 100% guaranteed to work and takes all of two seconds. This is like the least frustrating RPG ever.Originally Posted by MechDeus
Along with Final Fantasy VII and Secret of Mana's battle system, Tales Of Symphinia's setup is extremely enjoyable. You don't groan or get sick of the random battles like on the other games. You you play this game with 4 players, it's a freaggin blast... especially when you're all drunk and casting spells like a moron and combining the special attacks.

Well it's usually, 3 "a" button attacks and then a "b" attack...then Lloyd can earn the tetra slash title and possible other ones. most of the b attacks will combo from 3 ground attacks. You cna also combo some air attacks. Other characters it differs of course. I mostly use Lloyd or that other sword dude and let the magic users stand in the back and go buck wild. The more you use moves, the more you unlock stronger versions of that move. I go buck wild with techniques and just feed myself some food that refills my tech points at the end of battle.Originally Posted by RedCoKid
The combat system is very easy and fun, the whole game is just fun to play. Nothing annoying. It's a very refreshing game. I starting to get the hang of "grade points" a bit, but still can't get crazy amounts in combat...
Anyone else try that skeleton guy early on in the game? I just crossed the ocean and left him behind, but I plan to go back and kick his ass....he whooped me now, since I'm only at level 20 for each of characters. I can easily see how this will be an 80 hour game, I'm nowhere and already have like 20 hours logged on.
"50,000! You scored 50,000 points on Double Dragon?"
I love this game. There's a way to combo two 'B' buttom attacks, you can find the explanation in the training manual. Trying to get better at the universal attacks, anyone have any tips?
I haven't figured out the grade points at all. I'm in the second Ranch (near permascota) right now.
I'm curious, I went to Izoold and when the boat dude asked me if I wanted to go to the eastern continent, I said no and went to Hima, Asgard, etc.. Right now, he's away on "business." Was it possible to leave when he asked me back then?
I have six characters, and so far Kratos and Raine have become the healers.

Sqoon: I have no idea what you're asking. Is that the fisherman's son you're talking about?
"Tick-tock"
Refill is the primary healer, while Kratos(zelos) and Regal have healing spells too.
Izoold is the branch point, if you went to the house in the northwest of Izoold, you would get an event that would lead you to Parmacosta directly. You cannot have this event if you went over the bridge north of Izoold.
