A rom of a Saturn game... eh?

My dilemna:
I played Saturn Grandia five or six years ago and fell in love. Not before or since have I played a more charming RPG. Sure, it had a few flaws but it remains my favorite traditional RPG to this day (Suikoden II is a very close second). When the PSX version was finally announced, I thanked god and cried. Finally, I'll be able to understand the story! Horror of horrors though I soon learned that not only did the 3D engine now chug on the more powerful PSX hardware (quality port ahoy!) but much more distressing, the voice-overs were god-awful! That was my favorite part of the original; hearing Sue yell something Japanese at Justin and slap him in a burst of anger -- adorable! I cringed at the thought of a rag-tag bunch of second-rate "actors" trying to take the place of the original voice-actors and refused to go near the game for fear of ruining my fond memories of the original.
Well, I've played through many an RPG since and have yet to experience the joy I felt as I led Justin, Sue and Feena about on their amazingly fun adventure. I've searched off and on in the interim for a fan-translated ROM of the original but I suppose if a project like that had been started, it was probably scrapped when the US version was announced. I became so desperate a few years ago I started devising a way of hooking a playstation controller through a saturn one so I could play both games at the same time through the one controller. Then I'd just have to watch the PSX one and listen to the Saturn one. Upon further thought, of course, I realized this wouldn't work for various reasons. This is how intent I am though on playing this game in its original form (plus English text of course).
Is there a ROM out there that I missed? Do I have any other options to play this game with the original sound clips aside from learning Japanese? Thanks for any help.
p.s. I never got to finish the Saturn version because my save file got erased at 45 hours. So no spoilers after the recruitment of that little native kid boy. thanks!

er, i'm not so up on the pirate scene. is it only iso then to be burned to a disc? are there no PC saturn emulators at all? i don't know this stuff i guess.
i'm pretty positive that no translastion patches exist for the saturn.
the best emulator for the saturn is Giri Giri and it's endorsed by sega too.Originally posted by Compass

Just get the PSX version if you want the story in English. I have it; it's really not as bad as most make it out to be.
I beleive the commercial name was like "Cool Disc" or something, and I don't think the hack that lets it be used with other games is endorsed by Sega.Originally posted by APC

Anyway, if you want to know if a translation hack is availible for any game just go to the Whirlpool. If it isn't there it probably doesn't exist.
Actually I'll disagree. The Translation is nice but the engine is utter garbage on the PS Version...Originally posted by Saint of Killers

There was a serious translation of Grandia going on the web some years ago. I suppose it's possible to create a working Saturn rom with English text and Japanese dialogue, but that'd take a lot of work.
Thankfully, 88 did his research. Now he can go fuck himself in peace.
Dude, shut up. Seriously. That was so out of place and uncalled for that it's not even funny.Originally posted by FuSoYa
