Thread: Yet another excuse by the Bush administration.

  1. Yet another excuse by the Bush administration.

After claiming it was ready to be used at any moment and that Saddam had a ring of WMD around Baghdad the story has changed to, its buried somewhere, its shipped to Syria, he destroyed em to make us look bad etcetera and now the latest its looted.

Rumsfelds words: There is no looting, the press makes a big issue out of nothing and shows the same guy running of with a vase over and over again, I didnt even know Iraq had that many vases.

Al kidding aside, if all those hyper dangerous WMD and biological and chemical weapons have been looted where are the sick and dying looters?

This excuse just like the previous ones is a farce, a bad joke wich the O´Reilly crowd will lap up like the good little pupies they are.

Im sure some will start blaming the French and the UN again like has happened in the past.

    Sickening really.

  2. My main concern with our foreign policy right now is that we will either attack Syria over perceived WMD harboring or pull a cowboy act with Iran over its nuclear energy program - or both.

My main concern with our domestic situation right now is that people like Bush will succeed in making the don't-question-the-government-during-times-of-war mentality into a cornerstone of life in times of peace.

  3. I think that the underlying philosophy of the people of the United States, bitch about everything, will win out in the end. Really, it all hinges on how the next election goes.

I knew 3 years ago that all we could do was hang on and grit our teeth for four straght years of crap, but I admit it's harder to do than expected. 2004 is just taking waaaay too long to get here.

  4. You guys are lucky.

We're stuck with Blair for the future. Until he resigns or (hopefully) dies.

After all, I may hate Blair but I'm sure as hell going to vote for him over the Conservatives. And it's quite a common view.

Can you imagine Iain Duncan-Smith as Prime Minister?

Just curious -- who exactly is the messianic candidate that you believe will be on the ticket in 2004? If I were a staunch opponent of Bush, the current prospects would not be lifting my spirits. At all.
    "Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"

  6. Here's the thing with Blair and Bush:

Who's the bigger idiot? The idiot, or the person who unquestioningly follows the idiot?

I don't think we'll do anything about Iran. It's about to take care of itself.

Check out some stuff on Iran's current state. Something big (as in "could topple the government" big) may happen in early July. There's a thread about this in Sound Off somewhere.

Doubtful. Even when we had this during WW2, it was eventually lifted.

Exactly. Of course, the people looking forward to 2004 are the same idiots who thought that Clinton, who accomplished absolutely nothing in eight years, was a great President.

  10. Where on earth in those few paragraphs did I give the idea I expected a competent president? At this point, a return to generic Clintonism would be the equivalent of paradise.

Oh, and I didn't think Clinton did that bad. He didn't do that good, but I didn't give a rat's rude bodily part about his sleeping around. All told, eight years of standard incompetence beats four years of concentrated shit.
